Me diagnosed abround 7-8 weeks ago, lost around 10 KG and hoping to see the 82 mmol come down to atleast the pre-diebetic range in 4 weeks time. For the folks in remission please tell us your diagnosis numbers and what you achieved 3 months latter so we can see what is attainable in real life for motivation. And also mention if you used drugs to achieve this, I am on diet only at this moment of time to see what effects this can have on numbers, if small I am open to medication.

I went from 91 to 47 in 80 days after diagnosis, eating 50 gm of carbs per day as a maximum.
I did take metformin and atorvastatin for 5 weeks, but it made me really ill.
I went down to Hba1c of 41 at 6 months, so I don't think I ever really required the tablets. I have been at the top end of normal ever since. I reduced carbs down to no more than 40gm per day some time ago, trying to get down into the 30s, but my Hb1c remained unaltered, so there is obviously not a direct relationship between it and blood glucose. levels

Amazing work, bringing it down from 91-47 in 80 days (so pre-diebetic range in under 3 months)

Not so dramatic here. 55 to 44 in 3 months of keto and at that point 13kg lost (normal bmi). Weight loss benefits some more directly and dramatically than others. Possibly more genetic/other factors causing type 2 for some of us rather than excess weight alone.

No, now on 20mg of gliclazide a day, last alc in February was 42
Can I ask you a question, AC1 @42 is good, and yoru taking a small amount of Gliclazide, are you able to eat normally now, i.e. soem carbs amd treats as well?

I was diagnosed type 2 six years ago with an HbA1c of 70. With low carb and Metformin it was down to 45 after two months, then 36 after another two months.

good going, so Metformin works for you? with low carbs

Aug I was 58.
By Jan 42
By June 40

All via the forum, LCHF (aim was sub 60g a day)
& a touch of Metformin.

Good luck finding you're way down.

Started with hba1c of 45 in January 2022 two months later 34 and steady since then last one in November was 33.
no medication all low carb.

Still eat low carb, probably about 100g a day, no sugar, but roughly 2,500 calories a day, eat salt & vinegar peanuts by the ramekin, still weigh 48kg, do a lot of weight training & cycling which helps
Carbs tend to raise b/s then drop quickly & make me hypo

HbA1c was 95 at diagnosis then 50 after 3 months and then 33 after another 3 months. Diet and walking. It has increased now as I've had a few years of very high stress levels but hopefully coming down again.

Wow that's amazing 95 to 50 with just diet. How many carbs? I just ate a slice of pizza now my son made it at school and he said daddy I saved you a slice, I feel so bad for having it

I was diagnosed with hba1c of 48 and prescribed statins which increased my hba1c to 54. When I came off statins due to other side effects 6 months later my hba1c dropped to normal levels which I have maintained for approx 10 years. I still watch my carbs but am lucky in that I can tolerate an average of 100g per day but I still test to keep an eye on my BS particularly if I’ve had more carbs than usual.
