Here comes Summer let's stay active.

Yesterday was another good day - I had to go into town in the morning and in the evening I volunteered at my local community theatre. I'm an usherette so there's lots of standing and walking up and down the aisles. I'm going to need the exercise too, it's my brother's birthday tomorrow so we're going out for Sunday lunch :)

Diamum enjoy your lunch.

Walked 2 miles up the hill then walked ran back down . I'm a slow runner but hey ho I don't care .
Lovely morning

Been out and about on woodland walks last couple of days.
Exceeded goal on fitness tracker. Woohoo!

Yay! Well done @Pipp! I'm full of a summer cold today so I just went for a gentle stroll, I always feel better when I get out for a bit

I bet you thoroughly enjoyed that. :)

Does anyone have recommendations on a fitness/steps/whatever monitor? When I can start walking again (messed up foot right now, can't walk... Though my arms are getting stronger from these silly crutches!) I would like to see my progress.
TIA!

You can pick up a simple pedometer for under a fiver. They measure number of steps you take.
I am currently using a Garmin vivofit activity tracker. Straps on wrist.records steps and calories used and sleep pattern. Can synchronize with app. Also with my fitness pal app, to factor in calories consumed. Cost around £50.

Walked around the local pitch n putt 9 holes in military fashion. Its been a couple of years since I played golf.

:D

Went to my husband's fitness class on Sunday morning (have been avoiding it like the plague but decided I needed to take the plunge). Did circuit training and really enjoyed it but couldn't stand up or sit down on Monday and now my abs are killing every time I laugh, cough or sneeze! Oh well, no gain without pain I suppose!

I feel for you, but your comment did make me laugh. Don't give up, go again....it will get easier :)

Yes, am certainly going to try - trouble is the other trainer is taking the class this week and he is a real task-master - I am scared! :nailbiting:

Catlady19, it's what trainers call "beasting". My daughter is visiting from London on Saturday and wants to go to the gym with me, so I've already informed her that I will be doing the beasting.

Aw, guys. If the exercise / activity is not enjoyed you are unlikely to continue.
Try to find something that you do enjoy. Life can be punishing enough without looking for more.
;)

Rain stopped play today. So I walked around the supermarket as fast as I could then back in the dry did arm lifts with the bags of veg.

You'll have big biceps if you do that for too long. You are spot on about enjoyment though. I run and I do lots of resistance exercise because I love it...the whole thing....getting up early, the sunshine and birds first thing, the sense of what the day holds. Mind you, I'm knackered by 10pm every evening. So you are spot on, explore and discover what you enjoy.

Yesterday I popped into town to top up the electricity meter and get some shopping - walking time half an hour

Diamum5972 ....well done. A really positive attitude to getting out and about.
