Here comes Summer let's stay active.

Howdy.
Just looked back at some of the posts.
I have been walking a bit more, swimming a bit less.
Just like teachers used to write on my school reports. 'Could do better if she tried'.

I intend to get more active just as soon as I get out of the hospital have said to family no more moping around at the computer all day for me going to enjoy life and live it.

Going to take the mobility scooter out of moth balls and crank it up.

Longish walk after dinner, nice and relaxing as sun goes down, to be replaced by an amazing looking moon, over the Tay Railway Bridge, lovely.
Shot of gin to end the weekend.
@JohnEGreen hope your escape committee is doing the job and you get out soonist, good wishes to you.

@hankjam thanks but I must I think be one of the few people who has ever walked out of a HDU got on a bus and gone home that was about 18 months ago so I'm not to sure if they will be glad to see me back. They'll not keep me in any longer than I want them to you can be sure.

I did that once. Only I got a cab.

Hope you are soon well enough to get out of there.

I am trying to become more active - easier with the lighter nights.

I walked over 10k steps yesterday (my daily target is 6k as I have a part time office job and I wanted realistic targets).

Thought about cycling to the bakers today to get a yummy 50/50 roll - but felt the wind out there and am a "fair weather" cyclist so might just have to do some housework instead (I hate housework)

Well done @magsiesss
I am always impressed with efforts of those fitting exercise and work into same day.
I hate housework too, but do feel better if I move, so try to think of housework as exercise.

Feet are too sore to walk much today, so I went to the pool and swam 40 mins and did 45 mins of aquafit class. That had knackered me so housework exercise is scheduled for tomorrow. Feet up time. First time in pool for weeks but enjoyed being out of the sun. I know, Miserable so and so that I am.

Only been going to the gym with Yonne, my wife for 5 months. We go three times a week for a weekly total of 4 hours. A bit of cardio, but lots of resistance to get ourselves strong and help our bodies burn the glucose. Last three months we've started loving it and can't wait for our Mon, Wed, Fri sessions. Today, Yvonne bought me a new pair of jeans ......30" waist - first time at 54 years old since my 20s that I've had a pair this size....yippee:).

Loving this weather, I was out of the house at 6am taking the dogs for a long run down by the Estuary, then up to the horses for a paddock clear, then I filled and carted 5 x 25 liter jerry cans of water to fill up the trough.

Then home breakfast, up to the gym for a 10am Pilates followed by a swim.

Home by noon and started work.....I seem to have energy coming out of my ears at the moment!

This exercise malarky is addictive. Especially when you see results like yours. :)

See what I mean? Addictive! :)

I've been feeling a bit blech recently - combination of perimenopause and warm weather but I do feel better when I get out for a bit. I had to face the delights of the DSS this afternoon so I got some food shopping on the way back. 40 minutes walking and carrying heavy shopping bags as well - result :)

Morning exercises for shoulder.
Late lunch walk, 30 mins
After dinner walk tonight, lovely sunset to the NW.
Good bit of weather today, it does help.

@Jamrox how you keeping?

By gum lass, with all that water carrying, I bet you've got strong biceps. I'd be on the floor, nursing my back with the horseslaughing at me:)

Let's put it this way @KevinPotts last summer when I was 3.5 stone heavier, smoking and had not seen the inside of a gym for about 5 years I could not do it and used to struggle and it took forever, this year I am hefting them, swinging them into the back of the jeep, and out again, hefting them to the trough, no issues.

Bit sobering to realize that each one weighs about as much as the weight I have lost!

I look on it as one of the positives about this Diabetes diagnosis......I am overall fitter, stronger and have fat more energy.
