I'm a long term T2 - diagnosed just before my 40th Birthday (I've just turned 50) a few months before my Mum died of diabetic complications... I've always been on the high-side - I think my lowest reading was about a 5, after a lot of hard work! Now I'm three stones lighter, 14.5 St, I stand at work - I'm office bound, but still try to be a little bit more active during the day, but, and here's the rub, my bloods are now averaging 15 - I'm in danger, I know I am. The thing is, we eat really well - I cook fresh food all the while, never processed foods. Last night was aubergines with a greek inspired sauce and grilled sardines. I do like a drink - both wine and beers. My meds of metphormin don't seem to touch the diabetes and I'm starting to get really quite depressed by all this. What more can I do? Has my pancreas given up the ghost? Help, please...?
