Hi all.Can anyone tell me if hot weather can raise blood sugar. This morning 8.9! Nothing different food wise and not feeling poorly.

No you like hot weather?
Stress such as discomfort from hot weather can lead to high BG.

On the other hand, if you like hot weather and spend more time being active, it can cause levels to be lower.

A warm night or two raises my FBG above my normal range, but not by all that much.

Unfortunately, folk with type 2 diabetes often report trouble sleeping and uncomfortably hot conditions tend to make matters worse. Lack of sleep is a form of stress and the added strain may well lead to higher FBG readings. Any measures you can take to ensure a good night's rest tonight are well worth doing.

We all perspire more than we realise overnight, especially in hot weather, so the glucose in our bloodstream becomes a little more concentrated. That can disrupt the delicate balance that we work so hard to achieve, so make sure you have plenty to drink.

Yes ,I can not believe my bsl increased to 23.7 in this horrible heatwave! Despite following my usual diet!
But iv always hated the summer and have always suffered badly with heat intolerance

For me, yes. I am a very active person …(it never lowers my glucose) but when we walk in the heat (I’m talking 30 degrees) my sugars get their highest. I test every night after our walk (two hours after meal) and the hot days are significantly higher. Since I eat carnivore there are zero carbs to add to the equation.

I had an awful nights sleep and blamed the heat, lack of sleep and peanuts! I caved yesterday, but yes definitely the heat does not help and I love sunshine. Different kind of heat here than Italy which I go to often.

I don't do well generally in toleration of hot and humid weather, and have noticed it does elevate my BG.
Yes mine too ... and I have to be sensible when the temperature rises to above about 22 degrees, and stay inside with curtains drawn x

I am not good in hot weather either, I find my sleep is poor, my BG is elevated and I seem unable to control my body temperature
