I get the same reaction (also postmenopausal). I have a little Rosaceae and it oftentimes gets worse and I flush (ears, cheeks and nose) if I overindulge. Goes away as quickly as it came on.Does anyone get hot flushes for no apparent reason? Before anyone suggests time of life, I am well done with that.
It sometimes happens, like this morning about an hour after a boiled egg
I have them after every meal. Haha to the otherEr, I hate to say this @SueJB, but hot flushes can last forever. My 87-yr-old mum occasionally gets them as does her older friend. I found out this startling and unwelcome fact from a 75-yr-old. But of course yours may be due to another factor, as @helensaramay says - have you had them after eating eggs before? Or another food?
I eat green and the rainbow and im certainly low carb and don't want to think about other thingsCould this be rosacea? I used to get a red face after eating, just like a blush complete with heat. It got pretty bad, progressing to sore, light sensitive eyes, as well as lumpy skin (it's also known as senile acne - charming!). No one knows the true cause, but I'm betting on a change in the gut flora which is creating a toxin. Metronidazole antibiotic clears it up when taken orally but does nothing for the skin when applied as a cream, which indicates that it is killing the trouble making population of the gut flora and in my own case when I started low carb / lots of greens it went away!
I actually get terrible hot flushes, I even rang my specialist diabetic nurse to ask if it was my insulin, she said it could be that my bs was either high or too low!Does anyone get hot flushes for no apparent reason? Before anyone suggests time of life, I am well done with that.
