For convenience at work I was hoping to inject my fiasp to my arms instead of my tummy. I'm wondering if this effects the time itl take for it to work? Also is it more painful in the arm? I've only ever used tummy..

I don't know the affect of injecting in the arms. I know the absorption could be faster in the legs if you exercise immediately after injections. I wander if injecting in the arms and then pretending to be a windmill could have a similar affect.

Probably best to try in a safe environment (e.g. at home) and see how it affects you

I always use the stomach so do it in the loo
Why do you do a clinical procedure in a toilet?
Unless I wear a dress, I was always able to lift by shirt, jumper, ... and stab my tummy. I did this at my desk opposite a colleague for over a year before he noticed. People are less interested in diabetes than we think.
If you want some privacy, could you ask your employer to provide a more hygienic environment?

Hi @sjm1308 With injecting insulin, you need to be able to pinch an inch of skin, if you can do this so that you are not injecting into muscle, then the absorption should be fine.

Thanks @SueJB and @Juicyj I will maybe try it tonight and see how it goes.
@helensaramay thank you love I'm just new in the job so don't want to draw too much attention to myself till I settle in a bit. I understand everyone is different and that's just my personal preference for the time being

Why is it more efficacious to do it at your desk? I only sit on the loo, there are no more germs there than at a desk. I also think that injecting something is not really what others want to see so I don't inflict it on them. I don't want to push their faces into it. I'd rather do it more sedately and privately in a loo. I suppose it very much depends on the individual's sense of privacy. My husband hasn't seen me inject and he doesn't need to, so why expose others to it?

Same here, I've always been a very private individual and don't like anyone watching me do anything, and anyways since I inject into my backside or thighs I can't exactly pull my trousers down in the middle of an open-plan office (and no the only private room in my building is the very cold server room which I'm not allowed in) :)

I don't urinate or defecate at my desk. Needles are sterile for a reason.

I am also an immensely private individual - as long as I am not waving the insulin pen in people's faces and they are not taking an unhealthy interest in someone injecting within their vicinity there is no problem. Of course you can't drop your kecks in an open plan office - I am lucky enough to have an empty room to use if I feel the need to use my thighs or backside for a dose but without I just use arms or stomach and manage accordingly.

To answer your original post @sjm1308 - I do find there is a little slower absorption if I use my arms compared to stomach but only a little. I sometimes combine an arm injection with a thigh injection if I'm having a meal with what I consider medium fat content (not high) as Fiasp works so quickly at times of the day.

Thank you @db89 suppose like everything itl just be trial and error. Going to try tonight with my tea and see how I get on
