Hi , my name is Andrea , I live in Dublin , Ireland .
I'm 21 and living with type1 diabetes for 11years now . I am also a celiac 10years ! I mange my diet very just the odd weak moment usually on the way home from anight out , :?
This is my first site I've every joined to speak with people living with diabetes , I've never really spoke to anybody about it !
I teach dancing for a living and work in a bar once/twice a week , don't really like the bar but its a wage.

Confused on how to use the site and ask questions - any tips ? :lolno:

Ive come to this site as been very unwell this week I had my 3 monthly RA appt with the consultant on monday, who started a whole horrible last 2 days journey off..

my right leg has grown 5 inches bigger than the left that around not up. and refuses to go down to its normal size, i've put on 3 st very quickly and have been feeling sick dizzy and thropy if thats a word, have feelings of confusion and disoritated. near on panonoria really, but I put this all down to my age and been a female,anyways to cut to the chase she thought I had blood clots and in jected me with Hemptron, then sent me for scans and further blood tests which have shown up high blood sugars and an appt tomorrow with the Gp for more blood tests to see how high my sugar level is., I think the injection has left me been very sick and near on passing out., and at the moment lying on the bed with my big leg up a height and my stomach contents coming up every 5 mins.,not thats theres much left inside it., dispite promising not to eat any more ket I,ve had a chocolate biscuit and feel alittle less dizzy and sick. any help would be most welcome,

hi my name is nazzia i just saw daibetes.co.uk is on facebook ,i have been a type 1 daibetic since i was 7 and now i am 32 and i have done the dafne course too,which has helped me as i have always had low blood sugars and hypo's since i was a child until last year (2012),now i can control my insulin and bloods by myself without help ,most of the time ,i am a female,i like to do word searches and criss crosses,i hate it when certain family members think they are a doctor/dietitian,and think it is a good thing to hand your medication over to every tom,**** and harry and tell you that you ain't allowed nothing because your a diabetic ,if i want a potato i will have it ,i don't belong to no-man or woman and as they say the rest is up to you.

Hi my name is Liz and I have been diabetic for 30 years. Originally on tablets but now on insulin as well. I also have fibromyalgia and some other problems.
I am in my mid 50's; we have no children.
We live in a small town in North Wales.
I am a carer for my husband who had his second stroke 2 years ago.
I love birds (the feathered kind) and currently have two cockatiels and a fish tank. I would love to have a dog but it is not possible at this time.
I have a wide interest in music everything from classical opera, folk, to modern. I like Queen, Fleetwood Mac, Garry Barlow, Robbie Williams, ELO; to name just a few.
I was a secretary in the NHS until I lost my job through ill health, but I worked in the local rugby club running the bar whilst I went to college to update my office skills before that.
I enjoy various crafts, knitting, jewellery, card making and I enjoy going to an art class to improve my painting skills. Watercolour, not painting the house, although I have done that in my time too.
Well I think that is enough for now. I look forward to meeting other people on the forum.
