My name is Karen. I am a 53 years young female living in the UK in South Staffordshire. I would say I'm spiritual rather than religious. I would describe myself in three words as being: funny, kind and bright. I don't have any pets. I would rather eat an apple than compare Apple to Microsoft. I like watching live sports, the only one I watch on television is the Grand Prix. I dance as a hobby. It takes a lot to get me angry. I don't have tattoos, but like them. Five favourite bands/ artists - hard to choose: Leonard Cohen, Nick Cave, Linkin Park, Kings of Leon and Natasha Atlas. I like all kinds of music, so no real favourite. I don't think too much about flags, I used to put them in sand castles when I was little though. I do camp, in fact I'm going to a dance festival this weekend. I am in love right now with my lovely partner Brett. I've used fake tan on my legs. Countries visited include: France, Sweden, Southern Ireland, Belgium, Holland, Czech Republic, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Malta, Crete, Cyprus, Turkey, Tunisia, Majorca, Canary Islands and America (New York). My favourite city was Prague. Don't watch much TV. Tend to watch wildlife and survival DVDs such as Ray Mears. I have a wealth of friends and enough money to get by. I work as an adviser for young people who have a learning difficulty or disability. I have a degree in Psychology and Special Educational Needs and a post graduate diploma in advice and guidance. The thing I like most about myself is my sense of humour and least is I can be a bit fickle at times. I am a type 2 diabetic on metformin and was diagnosed 6 years ago, 2 years diet alone, then metformin, dose just increased and I'm struggling to tolerate higher dose, joined forum for support and interesting topics.

I live in a little town called Blackburn,those of you who are football fans may know it.
I'm a woman but if you hurt my friends or family then I can be a tigress,
I have a slow burn but it ends in a big explosion.
I have no organized religion but try to be kind to all of God's creations
My musical taste is eclectic,and I can't possibly pick a favourite although I love my stepsons singing.
My favourite T.V. shows are Dr.Who, Sherlock, Mr.Selfridge and any detective shows.
Favourite films Breakfast at tiffany's, my fair lady,pillow talk,calamity Jane,the sound of music,Mary poppins and grease.
I don't play sports because I am in a wheelchair because of diabetic neuropathy,this is also why I don't work (I'm in and out of hospital numerous Times with uncontrolled blood sugars) although I have canoes,climbed Ben Nevis,absailed, steered a sailboat,rockclimbed, and camped all because I am diabetic(I went on diabetic camp every year from being 6 to being16)

I have used fake tan once,never again,besides I like being pale and interesting(with a smattering of freckles)
I have been to a lot of Spain,Turkey,Florida,France,New York but I can't choose my favourite city because I love them both so let's just say nylon.
I am loyal loving and protective
I am in love with my fiance and of course I had that first love, he is still one of my favourite people and we are still friends.
The things I like about myself, I physically like my eyes,they're a really nice blue, I like that people come to me for advice,and I like my weird little idiosyncrasies.
What I don't like about myself, my inability to say no.
Oh and I craft so the house is always messy and I don't really care!!! It's messy but it's clean
And we have four boys and two cats and a thankfully of fish.

Compared to some people I expect I am, but nothing out of the ordinary for England. Not poor/not rich, just somewhere in the middle

Yep, I'm a materials enginner (basically a scientist who specialises in metals, plastics etc). I'm also a hypnotherapist...it's my 1- year exit plan from corporate working

GCSE's - passed only 5 with a C
A levels - only passed art
Nursing - RN adult
Nursing - RSCN
Then left nursing and went to uni to do engineering where I found out I was dyslexic - got some help and finally started passing things....which leads me to mechanical engineering degree
After that I did a PG cert in advanced engineering metals - should have been an MSc but the course was a joke and I left half way through
