It's GONE!

Something has gone awry. I was writing a reply to elaine77 (I wasn't offended in any way by your comments Elaine). But when I wanted to preview my reply it asked for a password, and then page 3 dissapeared, along with Elaine's posting. Have I pressed the wrong button or something?

I find every comment valid on this site. We MUST share information and FACTS between us.
Every single one of us is different, that's what makes us all the same.

Nope my post got deleted because someone complained about me mentioning weight and said I was being offensive.

I was very offended by the fact I'm not allowed to express how I feel or defend myself... I feel it's very unfair but I don't run this forum unfortunately so I get no say in the matter. I guess we now just have to forget that page although I do agree with you in that people should have a right to their say and to their opinion, this is a forum and in forums there is always controversy, that's what makes it real..... In my opinion anyway...

I have been upset and offended by many posts on here and yet I have never complained about someone to get them a warning or a reprisal because I firmly believe everyone is entitled to their opinion whether we like it or not and I would never want someone's opinion to be deleted....I would accept it as their opinion and put my own opinion across... I don't understand why people have to go behind someone's back making complaints when they don't like something they read... If things get personal between individuals then I understand that's not acceptable but to get angry or to have a general opinion on something...I don't feel that is a bad thing or that it should be taken away from anyone.....

Why has my post been deleted? It contained a few quotes from Prof Roy Taylor's article in medscape. Perhaps the moderator will post a public explanation.

It was because someone complained I was being offensive by mentioning weight, I'm guessing that because all the other posts on that page were related to that post that it was just easier to delete the whole page or it wudnt have made sense to anyone reading it....

Sorry about that, Yorksman. When deleting contentious and offensive posts, I tend to also remove any that are quoting them. I can PM you the content of your post if you'd like.

If you guys could get this thread back on topic, that'd be great.

Well said that lady. I spend more time on valuable PMs now to avoid the CARBINIERI. I think there are times when PMs are more appropriate, although it means that others don't benefit from potentially interesting stuff. I suffer (not!) from my stuff being copied to 'other sites' and ridiculed by people who are pretending to be nice to me on this site (cowardly and pathetic I know!), so at least keeping everyone's opinions intact and in one place gives an honesty and continuity to discussions. It's so easy to lose track of OP when the discussion runs and evolves into pages and pages. I'll get my coat!! :D

Love ya Gezza!!what a fun game we play eh? Why not share your wisdom elsewhere too so EVERYONE can benefit from your experience!

Thankyou yes. I'll remove anything which looks as if it references a now, non existant, post.

Love that word play on carabinieri

Thanks Yorksman. I keep in mind the 'LAUGHING AT OURSELVES' blog at all times. Sometimes, I feel there is more 'life' in the retirement home where I teach 'silver surfers' than here!! I expect I'll be told off for having 'feelings'. :D :D

PS ... Bangbang chicken tomorrow evening as per your link ... it's pension day so I can put the jammy dodgers away!

But my wisdom is already being shared elsewhere, isn't it? I'll show you if you like.. it is funny. Yes, it's good to lighten things up and have fun.

Have you tried this with other types of nuts instead? I know that sometimes it matters and sometimes not. I can get some cashews but have tons of other nuts around.

Hi Elaine.
I started my reply, that I couldn't finish, with the words
'I am a good advert for those who think that type2s can lose their diabetes by losing weight'.
The press would have a field day showing me to the public with that particular, and very wrong, claim. It's a shame that your post got deleted, honestly, my reply was that good!
I can remember your very heartfelt mention of the fear of going onto insulin at a later date. If I don't take care of myself then I often wonder if that will happen to me. I have to accept that I am not cured and I might have only delayed the diabetes for an unknown number of years. It's not fair on any of us. When I read a post from a newby about the shock of diagnosis I can recall how I felt when I was told. I felt nothing, no shock or disbelief, I wasn't in shock or denial, it just didn't bother me. It bothered me to have to phone each of my 4 sisters to tell them they had to get tested, if I had it they probably did too. As the years went on I got worse and worse physicaly, mentaly I still didn't care. Even being told I was 'cured' had little effect, but a week later it did! I accepted the diabetes as just another thing wrong with me.
When I first joined this site I honestly believed that I was cured. Being part of the discussions has made me realise that I (probably) am not. The best I can do is try and keep it at bay for as long as possible and hope that many others can do the same.

I was chatting on the phone to a sister who is type1. She injects several times a day. But when she goes on the Slimming World diet she can reduce the frequency of the injections 50%. She doesn't low-carb to the extent that some do here, she will sit down to a large bowl of roast potatoes as her main meal. She also eats grapes and bananas.

I wish I could read your deleted post again.
Lee.

Have they seriously deleted my first post of today aswell? Even though there was absolutely nothing wrong with it at all??

Oh and for the record I do not eat a 1200 calories a day diet and never have, you clearly know nothing about my diet so please keep your snide little comments to your self and if you have something to say to me say it here or dont say it at all.

My apologies if I have got your calorific intake wrong-I believed I had read that to be the case on a thread here last year, however, you forgot to mention the fact I have sung your praises elsewhere regarding your great mousakka recipe and I have also stated that I deeply sympathise with your health problems but of course you don't want people to know that as it's more fun to paint me as some sort of 'Dark Lord'

As for being the biggest culprit of being a cyber bully, well I ask you to take that back as that's not on and very untrue...on the subject of cyber bullying..have you not read carbo's blog? the one I and many other have been attacked on by people who always post anonymous but that's ok because I'm a low carber and deserve all I get in life...as for speaking to you on here..what's the point..you just reply with sarcasm with loads of laughing emotiocons and when I defend myself the thread gets locked.

That makes it OK then does it? Someone says something about you so you think its OK say what you like about others.

And I wont take anything back I have never said anything to you or about you anywhere else but on here, if a post doesnt have my name on it I didnt write it.

It is you who is continually mocking me and other DCUK members on the ediots blog and what I said stands, if you have something to say to me or about me at least have the minerals to say it to me here where I will reply.

Do you think its clever to copy the lies of others and re tell them again and again, perpetuating the lies?

I did post here once that on ONE DAY I ate a total of 1200 calories, I also made it quite clear that it was not representative of my usual daily diet and that it should not be seen as such, but hey, dont let the truth get in the way of some good "fun" eh? You and others take everything out of context and think your so funny to continually ridicule people saying no one can live on 1200 cals a day, well I dont its just you and the ediots like to twist everything I say when you post your garbage to the ediots blog. You should be ashamed of yourself.

So dont try to turn this round onto me, I dont post anonymously and neither do I post things behind peoples backs on other forums or blogs, because that is bullying and only cowards do that.
