Just tested and glucose is over 55.5 and blood sugar 18.2.
I have a GP calling me soon, I no faith in them though, sure this has been said before but apparently it is not necessary to self test, carbs are good !!!. I am a bit shocked that my levels could go up whilst on a drip and nothing but water to drink all day, I am beginning to think late onset type 1, have though this for sometime but my ideas are poo pooed by my wonderful health team Also have lost a lot of weight this year without even trying.
Thanks you, I have no idea really what to say to GP, am a bit sick of it all. I went through the same thing when my Thyroid stopped working so well, Took me several visits to GP before finally agreeing to a blood test amongst much sighing. I am now on 200g of thyroxine a day..
Just eaten some scambled eggs to scared to touch a carb.
Actually there are more cases of T1 diagnosed in adulthood than in childhood. It's often misdiagnosed initially because of this misconception.Late onset type 1???? Type 2 maybe but type 1 is usually picked up in childhood. Not saying its impossible but?????
Yes, I agree with Phoenix. One of the great misunderstood areas of diabetes. Mine appeared at 60 and I gather the oldest found so far was age 90! As it's mis-understood many are recorded as T2 by GPs hence the level of LADAs doesn't show up in the stats. Sudden and unexplained weight loss is one of the key symptomsLate onset type 1???? Type 2 maybe but type 1 is usually picked up in childhood. Not saying its impossible but?????
