Making the forum better

See you have rules and end up having communal showers with perverts watching..leave the forum to bumble hapilly along and sort itself out on the odd confusion and **** up

I am not sure where I should post a comment about navy blue knickers I am type 2 would that be the suitable place ? maybe some type 1s would like to know that I had to wear navy blue knickers 60 years ago:D

Ok I missed it but having looked still do not see it. I am a T2 But ;looking at all the remarks . I can understand the need to know , but only if the posts refer to your problem.
I look most days and happy with the comments that are posted. I think that the forum is doing great and we are learning and finding solutions that relate to different types of diabestes.
Keep up the good work. I have found out so much since joining this forum and will ask and look for any problems that relate to my problems.
Thank you all Anne

Whoa, sorry I didn't see this thread! Been supremely busy over the past few days and haven't had much time to check the forum until this morning :(

To answer the question addressed by OP, yes this is something we could possibly do. I've a nagging feeling in the back of my mind that there is a reason we don't currently do this, but I'll double check. If all is well, I'll see if this is something we can implement. However, this would mean it is more important than ever that people fill out their profile fields correctly (this can be done here: http://www.diabetes.co.uk/forum/account/personal-details)

PS: Any other suggestions as to how you guys feel we can improve the forum are more than welcome. You can post them here, PM them to me or email me at [email protected] :)

Don't talk to me about PE teachers... I was at this all boys school. This one teacher had a penchant for standing, no leaning with his elbow against the end door jam at the communal shower exit watching us all.. "To make sure everyone took a shower."
We had to wear these nylon white shorts for PE (black for rugby.) which were pretty much opaque.. His rule was no undies....!! "Unhygienic" by all accounts..
He also taught French and had a habit of referring to the class as "loves"...

Dodgy. And creepy

The Canadian RE teacher I had as a form tutor in my first year of secondary school was a little more insidious than the aforementioned overt PE teacher...
It amazed me how these people got jobs around kids.. But it was the late 70's. The lion the witch & the wardrobe still has "connotations" & quit frankly gives me the creeps....

My only concern would be just a little more quick actioning from the mods on removing these transparent "new age" cure for D "snake oil" whack jobs with an agenda for selling the "kings new clothes" from this forum...
I personally don't mind the entertainment from these feeble "Jedi mind trick" merchants, but fear for the vulnerability of others..
Especially those too young to have a say in their diabetes management...

From my ipad and phone I would like to select the forums/chats that interest me.. But difficult to get to the Insulin pump one for example..

Equip the Mods with industrial sized cans of "Troll B Gone" ? ;)

To the new age snake oil merchants - one word.
Karma .;)

Often, we only see these when people report them, and more often than not they're dealt with (deleted usually) within 2 hours, which is a far better response time than many online communities out there :) so all I ask is that people keep on reporting these threads so we can deal with them quicker.

Fair comment.

Two hours is enough time for the this cat to play with the mouse before it's dispatched... ;)

I decided to post details of my diabetes journey in the signature because when I joined the forum I found it very helpful to read posts from others who seemed to be experiencing what I was. It was also reassuring to read posts from folks whose levels were coming down and to see what they were doing. I found myself rooting for them when their next test results were due! But the signatures are indeed long - including mine!

I'm going to say this once and once only so listen up ....

I'm T2 ..... and don't any of you dare forget ok?

The worst thing about this forum for me is seeing ... BS typed up so often.
I'm on some heavy forums where people are arguing and fighting over religion and politics and BS means something entirely different ... I'm getting used to it a bit more now.

Ahhh I write BS ( blood sugars) but as for the other forums you mentioned, not for me and I would stay clear of those:( so my written BS means................ just blood sugars:cool:
