Moving from Low Carb to Higher levels

I have lost 4 stones and 4 inches from my waist in under 4 months.
Well done that is great. I think waist is an important measure - probably because it is a way to tell how much visceral fat you have. This is from the NHS website

You have a higher risk of health problems if your waist size is:

  • more than 94cm (37 inches) if you're a man
  • more than 80cm (31.5 inches) if you're a woman
Your risk of health problems is even higher if your waist size is:

  • more than 102cm (40 inches) if you're a man
  • more than 88cm (34.5 inches) if you're a woman

I think I was 48" waist originally. Now down to under 36" so you can do it. Keep it up you are doing great and I am sure things will get better for you.

Hey you've changed your avatar. Just realised who you are. I am easily confused .
Have held my weight steady for a while as I was worried I could not while keeping BG low. Now losing again.

Yes changed from a snowflake in a snow storm to a sugar lump and some haemoglobin.

Interesting, at first glance I saw red buttons ... But now see sugar lump and red blood cells.
Out to dinner tonight and guess what! Was sitting next to a diabetic specialist endocrinologist. Had to work really hard not to ask him what he thought about the Newcastle diet and whether diabetes can be reversed! Took a lot of willpower as he was captive for several hours. But did not seem fair to ambush the poor man!

I am buying a new SD meter which will give BS in mmol/L, my dad is using Aviva nano since strips are cheaper in SD machine I want to give my old SD machine to my dad. Does anyone know how I can delete my data from SD machine before I pass it to my dad? Look through instruction booklet did not come across it.

Will try when I get the new meter. When I bought mine did not realise you can order the machine to mmol/L or mg/dL-would have been easier

I noticed my has a small hole on the back - it might be a reset - try sticking a pin in it - just a thought

Did you try it with the battery removed? How about holding the on/off for several seconds?

Or you could give your Dad the new one?

ok tried everything (took the battery out, and on/off switch pressed for few sec) nothing worked -so my dad will have the old one since where he is they use mg/dL. I used to mmol/L. Every morning I get my phone out to convert.
I did not want my dad to see my higher readings after Weetabix experiments!!
I am eating Livlife bread from Morrisons 500g £199 and 68 cal. I liked it very much, phew I can have a sandwich now. Decided to loose 2-3 kgs again and then try to increase carb levels. I did eat a slice of brown bread (tesco finest farmhouse) yesterday and exercise a lot. reading before lunch 5 after 1 hr (on the bike last half hr) BS 6.2 after 3 hrs BS 6.4 after 4 hrs 4.6. I exercise every hour 15 min in case BS go up and I cant keep doing that everyday. Ordering some shakes to make it easy too diet as where there is food I cant keep count of what I eat.
I have increased my exercise levels and hoping this will help to improve BS in the longer run. My sister in Australia lost few kgs (she went for walks after meals) now her BMI 20.8%, she is eating carbs normally and her BS around 5.2 after meals. My BMI 22.6 unless I go on diets it does not budge.
I have watched prof Taylors video in Fend few times and it does make lot of sense.

Thank god I have this forum, it really helps to read others experiences and success stories, it keeps me going. Lot of my time spent here!!:) Till I find a job that is.

Or you could push the boat out and spend another £11.60 and buy your dad a new meter too, if you don't want him seeing your data.
