New pump: Medtronic 670g, 780g, omnipod Dash or Tandem-Slim

Hi Everyone I’ve been T1 for 37 years and a pump user over 15 years. I’m currently using Medtronic 640g and have a replacement choice between 670g, 780g, OmniPod Dash and Tandem-Slim.
Just looking for any user’s of these for advise and recommendations.
I really wanted to try the OmniPod without the tubing!

I am an Omnipod user. I have been using it for 18 months. Apart from a short time on the Medtronic pump the Omnipod is the only pump I can comment on. It took some time to get used to pump. At least that is a stage you do not have to go through. The Omnipod for me I have found very easy to use. Changing pods is simple and the dash handset guides you though the steps you need to take. I found it far simpler than the Medtronic. I have arthritis is my hands and found filling the reservoir challenging.

I was a 640g and then changed to the tandem slim with the Dexcom G6 so my pump is linked via Control IQ, this means my insulin is suspended if I run below say 4.9mmol/l and will increase my basal if running above 9.8mmol/l, I use the shortest cannula set length so it's easy to tuck away, the biggest benefit in using this system for me has been improved sleep quality as my levels stay flat all night now, less hypos, and less severe when I do go low. It's a small pump and rechargeable so I plug it in to charge every 2-3 days whilst showering or bathing, out of the 2 pumps this is far more superior and has been really easy to manage.

Many people find the Omnipod great and I had high hopes when I started using it. Unfortunately, despite a lot of great help from the Omnipod rep, technical team and my DSN, they didn't work well for me and I had to stop using them, and get another tubed pump, the Accu-Check Combo, which I love but the contract finishes shortly.

An hoping to start on the Tandem tslim Sept/Oct.

I’ve always been a tubed insulin pump user since I first started using insulin pumps, just something I have always gotten on with personally and the convenience of being able to unclip a tubed pump and remove it at any time is a bonus. I’m currently on the NHS hybrid loop trial still until December so my CGM sensors are provided. Hybrid loop for any pump is the best thing you could ever do if you get the chance to. I’ve freely admitted I was a bad diabetic before moving to this system and now I’m in range roughly 70% of the time. Which means no more crazy night time highs (yay more sleep) and less hypos. The sensor and insulin pump work together to manage my blood sugars by giving insulin or stopping insulin when it needs to. I can only speak of my experience with Medtronic pumps as I’ve had both the 640g and 780g so any questions regarding those I’d be happy to answer!

I have to make a decision on a new pump. If you are using medtronic 780 to loop with a cgm it must be using there guardian sensor. But this is nit available on nhs. So are you self funding please

I am not self funding, I am on the hybrid loop NHS trial so the NHS are currently funding my sensors for the year.

i like the 670, but now have been offered upgrade, as it has been 4 years. Am going to upgrade to 780, better control and I like the idea of one fingerstick/ week.
