Reactive Hypoglycaemia

I dunno - I was thinking under 'Gestational D' and above the Rant bit 'have your say'

It might get lost in Newly Diagnosed. I figure quite a few T2s have been diagnosed a while before they realise it is actually RH or a combo of RH and T2...

Fair point!
But if we had our own 'unique' forum, there would be more focus! And easier to find.

I have just Googled ' reactive hypoglycaemia' and the reactive hypoglycaemia page from the home page came up third in the list! That's great!
Some really good advice and information and it directs browsers to ask a question forum.

If we had our own forum, it would be even easier to find.

I still have some concerns about the dietary advice on the page though!

Thanks again @Administrator !!!!

Hi Nosher,
I found there were too many hurdles in the way of getting to the RH area and RH does not appear to have its own section!
I also didn't agree with some of the speel.
I know you are doing your best.
regards
Derek

Hi Derek,

This was the best that they could come up with, we had a thread going asking for our own forum, since starting, as I say, that maybe thirty have responded,
I have also asked them to change the info. But somebody from diabetes.co has to make sure, it is current thinking! (Go figure!) If you look at the T2 page they recommend eating complex carbs and low carb!!
Hopefully, @Giverney can do something to make it easier to get to the thread.
I also started to put the important information on RH in my signature box below, so that when I posted, you could see it, but for some reason it can't be seen on some mobiles!
I wish I was more techy, so I could do it myself!

If we do get our own forum, I think, we could get a lot more hits!

I would be ever so chuffed, if we did!

Sorry I am a bit useless with all this where do I need to go to the RHers thread.

Join the rest of us thickos!

You are on the RH thread now!
But it's just getting longer!

Can you not see info underneath my post?

If not, @Brunneria will post it for me.

No sorry I thought from the earlier posts that you had moved it! Idiot on the loose forgive me

Lol!
We would like our own forum, that's what's happening!
The admin has asked where to put the forum or sub forum.
The reason is that someone with a mobile that can't see info under the post, can't see the links to really good information.

Have been checking some random bloods today.

Fasting (after brushing teeth) 5.3

100g Greek
Yog and berries. Plus 1hr 6.3
plus 2hr 5.3

2 eggs omelette made with butter and mushrooms and 1 tomato
Plus 2 hrs 6.2

Salad leaves with salmon cucumber and tomato
plus 2 hrs 5.7

1/2 avocado at 3.30

Half slice of low carb bread and pate at 6.00pm

Dinner - lamb chilli made with peppers courgettes onions kidney beans and cauliflower rice with a dollop of Greek yoghurt

Plus 1hr. 7.6
Plus 2hr. 6.0

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I seem to spike more after evening meal so perhaps I am doing too large a portion.

Are you feeling better?
Are you getting more energy?
Have your symptoms eased any?
Can you smile?

Well, they are good numbers!
That's really good for someone who has just started.

I had a thought that your fasting would be in the normal range.
And your after meals testing is also fine.
Yes you might still be eating too much, but that will come in time when you no longer feel hungry!

Well done. You are definitely not diabetic!

It also shows you have not got much dawn phenomenon! Happy days!

I think under 'Newly Diagnosed' as the others are directly diabetes related.
If anyone is going through looking for advice, that was the first place I looked!

Thanks again!

No worries. We're on it!

Hey Brun and Nosher yes I am feeling good thanks.

I have had a little bit of pins and needles in fingers and scalp today but I am taking a high dose b vit which i am sure is affecting that so will drop it back a bit.

Many thanks

Emma

Funny though my cheek is still a bit numb after dinner. Will see if I can sort it with some fat.

@Linagirl
Your blood glucose tests look fab.
Don't worry about the 7.6 after an hour. That is a perfectly normal reading for that time.

You are doing so well.

How are you feeling on a daily basis?

Oh, and the thing to remember with fat, is that it digests much more slowly than other foods. Carbs dump quickly. Protein takes longer (but is digested in stomach, which can take several hours then absorbed when the protein leaves the stomach), fats dont start digesting til the food leaves the stomach and enters the small intestine. At that point, bile from the gall bladder arrives, and starts breaking the fat down. That may not be for several hours after you ate.

So, i'm thinking if you are dipping before evening meal, then not feeling right til much later, maybe a snack before you start preparing the food... It would give you a head start, as it were.

Come to think of it, that is what i do.
- surf a fat wave through the day, starting with coffeencream, on an empty stomach (digests faster than if it is trapped in the stomach with other food because it just goes through to the small intestine). Then i am still riding that wave at lunch, which creates another wave that is still going by the time i eat in the evening.

Have you seen the fat bomb recipes on Pinterest? They may help. And they are gorgeous.
