Regular moderate exercise log

@Goonergal at least you know it’s not a stress fracture, but not knowing exactly what it is must be frustrating. Interesting that your consultant approved of the keto diet. Hope MRI gets to the bottom of it.

Talking of MRIs have you had your results @ianpspurs?

Started the day with 20min moderate static cycling.
Breakfast then dog walk.
Around 10k steps today in all.
Had another bash at skipping this aft, spent about 10 mins not being able to do more than 7 before getting in a tangle, then thought my gardening clogs probably weren’t the best footwear. Changed to deck shoes and managed eventually, a princely 27 streak. I probably spent 15-20 mins in all and my heart was going like the clappers. Must be good for me.

Before bed around 15 mins of resistance type exercise - squats, leg and bum type of thing.

Probably, but been going on for 9 months and everyone I’ve seen is baffled as to why walking - I can’t run due to arthritic knee - should be causing so many problems.

If you've altered your gait to suit your knee that could be the trigger.

But good luck with it :) I don't know how long you've followed the Gunners for, but I have Keith Houchens autograph :p

Good evening all. Not sure if I should call my effort irregular non exercise but here goes.
Swimming lesson for inadequate wrinklies
45 mins lawn mowing
Loading car with inflatable bed, bedding, power tools. Sledge hammer, hedge hook, saws, spirit levels (bet I need a wheelbarrow when I get there) couldn’t fit either cement mixer in
Dog walk 45 mins
Ended up about 18.5K steps and an above par 5.4 day's average so not a good day
@DJC3 I have had no feedback about my MRI scan but I do have an appointment for July 17th when I already had one for July 24th. I am taking that as a nothing urgent was seen but in today's NHS that may be urgent.

Mondays session was Bench press form and technique work again, it will be going on for a while until I get it locked in for next years competitions. So it was 100kg for 9x2 then 90kg 5x5 then lastly 70kg for 15x3, followed by DB Bicep curls 15x3 and Barbell curls 10x3, all in all starting to get happier with my technique. Didn't train last night as had Eye hospital apt and the drops last until 9pm, just means a better session tonight though.

I must start using fitbit.

No idea how many steps even thou all are painful and arkward.
See MSK on Tuesday evening.
I need to know why I'm in sooo much pain in walking.
When not walking I stiffen up and dihydrocodeine has given all over swellings. Seeing GP about that today.
I'd just love to walk normally and without pain.
I'm walking everyday but having to stop every few metres. I'm holding everyone up. :(
I guess I just have to keep moving, even if just a little.

40 minutes swim, around 60 lengths breaststroke with a couple of lengths crawl for overtaking, don't know the exact distance as I didn't press start on the swim watch...

Duh :p

Oh dear a paltry 8,600 but back to work tomorrow with some structure and hope to get back up there. Went to dr today, we are gonna change the hrt to another type and she’s given me blood tests to look into exhaustion- and she included ANOTHER early Hba1c- this will be my 3rd in 4 months !!!! I do hope for a little reduction but not gonna have too high expectations. Another different painkilling cream for my knees - cross fingers for good results on all 3 x

Fingers crossed for you @flexi06 that the painkilling cream works.

I started the day with 20 min moderate cycling on the static bike, breakfast then a 2k dog walk.
Wasn’t able to fit in skipping or gardening today but managed just over 12k steps just doing ordinary tasks.

Got a long drive down to Cornwall tomorrow so not sure I’ll manage much exercise.

So proud of myself today.
2 walk outs. So 4 walking sessions and less painful walking..., well a tad less painful.
New tablets work well when no inflammation. If only I knew what triggers the inflammation in my fingers and forearms side effect. Wish I could say getting less as I get used to dihydrocodeine but not yet. Just started 2nd batch of 100. So 2-3wks of it but tingling, numbness and pins and needles no less apparent either.

Well done on managing 2 walks today.

A long drive down to Cornwall today so haven’t managed much. 15 mins Hiit on the exercise bike this morning and a 2K walk when I arrived. Will try to go out again this evening as I havent even managed 10,000 steps.

Legs tonight, but no squats as the rack was busy, working up to 220kg x 6 on a plate machine (with knee wraps) but would have preferred squats, calve raises on a smith machine as there's no calf raise machine, leg curls and an abrupt 'get off the machine I'm using it' from a new personal trainer as I went to use the leg extension machine, so did some front squats in the now empty squat rack to watch said P T & client lean on the machine I wanted to rest in-between their sets of walking lunges, so I bothered the centre manager on my way out to complain.

Sport centre's going downhill since the take over :(

I would have said something to P.T "trainer" I use the term loosely as I have forgotten more than they will ever know (not arrogant I have seen some of the shocking things that they "train") and said I will do sets in between, you all pay your money to train, even the buffoons !!!!. Glad you did your front squats too.

PT was a woman, as was her client, and she didn't have correct stability doing her weight free lunges (I have the old 'BAWLA' leaders certificate :p ) and she'd not had her stretch up before starting either, I'd have happily shared the machine but the option wasn't offered and the rudeness offended me, but as she was a very manly lass I didn't feel comfortable saying what I was thinking.

The manager will have a word, I kind of know the guy as he did me a favour sorting a lifeguard to count my young uns lengths as she gained her distance award certificates a couple of years back and he's a regular swimmer, it wasn't the not getting on the machine that annoyed me, just the real bad attitude from someone leaning on it to rest.

And breathe :)

Edit, front squats, I like these as the second exercise, normal squat sets first then the front ones as a lighter higher rep session, which is more forgiving on my 51 year old knees :) and this morning I've remembered that the leg press machine promotes bad form when you load too heavy straining the lower back...

I know what you mean about leg pressing, and about the manly P.T, hope the manager has a word with her.

I'm having a few days rest from walking. Taking the hint from the weather forecast and getting caught up on indoor work, having some fun days out, and recovering from a pretty strenuous half term full of assessments and exams. I'm well ahead of myself on targets, and today's blood sugars have been, um, interesting.

Still, nice to know if my emergency can of full sugar Coke is not in the office fridge, my colleagues all come hurtling round to check that I know it's missing, then when they see it on my desk check I'm OK, offer to go and get more immediately (main colleague had been presented with a packet of dextro to keep in the office until I've replenished supplies). I work with the best team! And I've trained them all well.
