Regular moderate exercise log

Well I have joined a drug tested powerlifting federation, so come what may I have to be ready in November this year to compete. So I have to get all my problems sorted and recover from my eye surgery, which is scheduled for August. Let the fun begin!!!

Hopefully squats tonight either with the bar or landmine form.

Take care everyone.

That’s really exciting @johnpol . I guess you won’t be able to train for a while after eye surgery though will you?

unfortunately not, I couldn't train for four weeks after my last surgery, but I have added it in to my programming for my training, so fingers crossed it all goes well, but I have my qualifying total in the bag now, but this cycle of training is to solidify it.

Hardly much but I did manage 16K steps today so not totally coach bound. I exercise at home so by the time I have done morning watering, hoeing etc and walked dogs its a bit hot in the gym room. Probably a weak excuse but its the best I got!

Decided to do Bench last night worked with some one else as well so it was a nice change for me, a relatively nice and easy 90kg 5x5 followed by incline press 120kg 4x5 then Bicepticles straight bar curls 35kg 3x10, D/B curls 25kg 3x10, Hammer curls 30kg 2x10........and relax! Deadlift tonight so will see how that goes.

Take care everyone.

12k steps and 2 x 15 minute sessions of mixed exercises ( squats, lunges, small arm weights, leg balances etc).
@ianpspurs have you just managed another 10k steps running round the living room after watching the footie?
@DJC3 3 Spurs players scored pens never in any doubt! I will manage 10K steps and I did my old farts swimming earlier. You have had a busy day - go you:)

deadlifted last night still trying the new style so only worked at 165kg 6x4 then a last set of 100kg for 10, trying for volume for a couple of weeks to try and bed in this new technique, especially as I will not be training for nearly all of September.

Take care everyone.

Went out for a long & fast, out-and-back solo ride this AM for about 60 miles. Was 15 miles out, 5 miles into a “no mans land” and realized I didn’t pack any food supplies- big oops! Tested BS at a little sub-normal number, dropped my pump into a lower basal rate for a “survival mode”, and turned around and headed back to the last convenience store that I’d past. Too hot outside to mess around any further.

Left my bike outside with a lady enjoying a cigarette. Seemed safe enough. And went inside for more cold water and red licorice, which I knew could survive the heat. Really wanted something chocolate, but knew that was a bad idea.

Headed back home for a “short 30”. Have to try the route some other day.

A little cooler today so i managed to be a little less couch potatoish. By the time I have put out bins and locked up chickens to save from badgers and foxes it will be 16K steps. Managed 30 mins on exercise bike - the 20 mins work part according to chest HR was at 125 bpm. No idea how good or bad that is but seems like a reasonable metric to me.

12,000 steps today. I need to stop myself accosting dog walkers and just enjoy a walk for the pleasure of it. I met a cracking little schnauzer today whose owner had an unruly white beard and massive eyebrows - looked so much like his dog I struggled not to laugh.
Also did 2 lots of 15 min mixed exercises ( squats, lunges, push ups, plank, balance leg lifts etc)

Still pootling around on early morning/later evening walks. About the only thing I like about heat is the fact I can do laundry when I get home from work, hang it out to dry and get it in again when I come back from the evening few miles.

Soooo chuffed I've been walking 4miles to do a chaperone to new senior school. However today I has to exceed that but couldn't do anymore so I had to use a taxi home. I've done it all in 5min bursts then sat on a wall to someone's garden. So a 15mins of walking with 10mins of rest. X4. Monday-Wednesday. Out of necessity so next week it will be due to wanting to keep it up. Then increase it. I'm ready to meet my surgeon but even more so then. :)

Well last night I managed it............I got under a squat bar!!! relatively pain free, still took 20 minutes warm up to even think about getting under it, but I managed a massive 70kg for 8x8!! so pleased!!!! so for the next few weeks its technique, technique, technique. need my comp squat well before November, and I will.

12k steps today. Still so hot its hard to walk at more than ambling pace.
15 mins assorted exercises this morning
20mins with the lopper this evening. Mr C had attacked a lot of greenery that was threatening to take over the garden, but just left it in a big pile on the lawn. I lopped it into bite size pieces so it could go in the garden waste bags. This was surprisingly energetic and I was a sweaty heap by the end. Must have done me good.

@DJC3 Lopping is amazing exercise especially if you saw branches then lop. Great day for you.
Very muggy here today. I managed 10K steps and 40 mins on exercise bike @125 bpm hr average. Since that I have had 2 readings below 4 and keytones of 3.6. I have either broken myself of found a sweet spot

Sounds like it’s the sweet spot you’ve been chasing - well done you!

Trained shoulders last night tried a few old exercise's from my strongman days which I thoroughly enjoyed!! Push press 100kg 5x10, single arm side lat raise 30kg 3x5 face pulls 100kg 3x15, frame shrugs 200kg 3x8. Triceps pushdowns 60kg 3x10, close grip press 120kg 3x8 and Relax. Nice weeks training and starting to see results as I'm being consistent, and importantly listening to my coach.

Take care everyone.
