Regular moderate exercise log

@Goonergal Maybe we are both getting a little wiser about all this and recognising what our body needs more than before? Of course, I could just be getting lazy:)

Hmm. I’d like to claim it’s all part of the master plan, but in reality it’s been a combination of work getting in the way/not carving out a bit of extra time for a longer walk.

Rectified today with 3 decent length brisk walks and a bit of getting from A to B adding up to 18,640 steps.

Managing to up the exercise a bit these days:

20mins exercise bike first thing.

1hr rehab gym class - resistance exercise and a bit of cardio and a lot of laughing.

14k steps in all

Another frustrating day in the sense that on screen 15k steps looks very meh and really won't do much for either general fitness or bg control. In the context of what else I/we were doing today and concern for bigger picture doesn't seem too bad but it is all too easy to lie to oneself.

I've been over busy and over tired so I had a rest :) and today I went for a session, did a bit of chest, a bit of shoulders, a bit of back and last but not least a little legs :P
Hopefully I'll kick back on now as the aches, pains and strains have eased, I've missed the pool and will dip my toes in the morning with child, I've not been idle as I've filled an 8 yard skip and taken four Xsara Picasso loads (seats removed) to the tip, all loaded by hand as my wheelbarrow's got a flattie...

Sorry, everyone. I've been AWOL.

I have, however, done lots of walking being about a fortnight ahead of myself and targets are mentally readjusted for the rest of the year. I have yet more responsibilities at Main Paid Work this year (but a possible pay increase is being negotiated) and one or two things are being re-negotiated elsewhere, but I'm determined for the sakes of both my physical and mental health to keep up with walking. It matters.

In the meantime, a little extra physical activity in the cleaning of walking boots. Mutters dark and evil thoughts about the iniquitous person who deposited on the pavement recently well chewed pink bubble gum which was still pretty soft when I trod on it! Meh.

Evening all. Active day today but still need to sort out those leg cramps. Having woken twice in the night with them, decided to apply magnesium oil before swimming - since I was up 3 hours before the pool opens, there was time for absorption.

Didn’t work. Had to abort after 40 lengths having felt first twitches on length 21.

However also clocked up 20,582 steps, most of which were during a long afternoon walk in the sun. Wanted to soak up every last drop.

I did 20 lengths alongside my little one before us terrorising the little pool as it was empty, we did races and with it being shallow I had a collision with the bottom of the pool tumble turning at speed :p :) the young un was amused but still won that one but I didn't sulk much
It's been an ok rest, strains aren't 'impeding' me so I'm looking forward to getting back into my routine once again :)

Barely 6,000 steps as I was out all day watching polo. I did manage a stint on the exercise bike this morning and late evening though.

@Moggely an hour’s dog walk in the sunshine sounds like heaven to me.
@Goonergal wow! Fantastic amount of exercise today. I hope the cramps get better though. I can’t believe you swam nearly 20 more lengths after getting twinges.
@ianpspurs well done for still managing the basic, even on an off day.
@kev_w I bet your young un loved your tumble turn in the baby pool. I did a duck dive in there once, for some stupid reason and smacked my face on the bottom and had a massive nose bleed - they had to evacuate the pool: oh the shame!

Are you taking magnesium pills? I buy the cheapest but they seem to work for me.

Just scraped the basic 10k steps. Redeemed ( in my own eyes at any rate) by 75 min yoga class which has left my legs feeling shaky, so must have done some good.

And so it continues this long march to nowhere much. 12k steps and 45 mins lawn mowing which must qualify as some resistance. I should be able to get round to something useful by the end of the week - it has been a long and winding road to nowhere this last 2 weeks.

Hi. Yes, magnesium religiously every day. Also eat a lot of magnesium containing foods (almonds, high percentage cocoa chocolate), so I suspect it’s not all about electrolytes.
