SD Code Free Strips Batch no. S0318075.

It has been reported before. It was reported during the winter of 2014/15. The Korean manufacturer's report was dated February 2015. There was a very similar thread to this one at that time with problems of one particular batch. I was involved in this and was given loads of pots of strips by Home Health to do some comparison cross checking with my Accu Chek Mobile. (similar to what @Rachox has been doing. ) I have always thought the Codefree was a bit dodgy, requiring too many double and triple tests, no matter which batch. In the end I gave up on it completely. I have continued to recommend it to newbies(along with the Tee2) simply because of the cost but have used my Accu Chek exclusively for the last 2 years .

Fair enough, that would have been more than a year before I was diagnosed so I missed it.

Moi aussi. C'est la meme chose. It is a quandary since price is important to a Newbie, but then these meters seem to need experienced users to work them. I have always queried this brand and have always regarded it as a standby meter compared to the one I use for taking important decisions on. I think I will start recommending the Tee2 now and the Dual for people interested in ketone measuring.

Très bien! Yes I think I may do the same. I think when you’re new to metering you may take all the readings at face value, it’s only as you become more experienced that you notice these irregularities.

I am just a bit concerned about your phrase “My recommendations for meters are as follows." I hope I'm wrong, but are we allowed to recommend commercial products like meters? The original post said "the most popular meters are". Just a thought, especially if you are posting with a moderator status.

Good point, I’ll change it, maybe qualify the whole statement with something to the affect that I’m not connected with any of the companies mentioned?

Quite simply I got it when it was free as it came with two ketone testing strips and I was curious to see if I’d reached ketosis!

Where can I find this approved list please? I have a Caresens Dual which I’ve never used regularly, it’d be good to see if it’s on the list, it might just tip the balance in it’s favour, when the Code Free isn’t.

The codefree is and it's the cheapest. I get 1 pot per month on prescription.

Can also confirm weirdly and worryingly high readings since commencing new tub of strips, which have just checked to be of this batch. Ordered five and still four left, unfortunately. Don't know which batch I had before though as discarded packaging.

Home Health and the manufacturer have both concluded that this batch is within permittable limits, but that’s strange, as you will have read, there are a few of us on this thread that disagree

New to this site and finding it bit hard to navigate so hope I am replying in right place. Reason I came here in first place are the weird readings I been having, which I thought must be due to diet or my pre-diabetes taking turn for worse. However, I know I started new tub about week ago and my readings seem to coincide with this. Checked batch no. and hey presto....maybe I have my answer!
