Just had my first 3 month HbA1c results from the Dn nurse today, I even got a kiss on the cheek from the lovely woman ( don't tell the wife). Diagnosed on the 15th July with 60 Ifcc, today was 30 ( not sure of the % still trying to get my head around it all), anyway in July I weighed 122 kg today was 99kg, the nurse was overjoyed and even talked about reversal of our collective diseases however I look at it as controlled.
I'm 45 but today I was like a little kid waiting in reception at the doc for my results ( I'm so sad as my kids would say). I have simply done this by following the Low carb diet and controlling calories and my exercise is walking/dragging/ jogging my body around 3 miles each day, more if I can.
The reason I've posted, is to share what's worked for me as I've never been one to celebrate me, I've always just got on with life's hurdles and have a few more to jump over yet, however I have to thank all the guys/ girls on this forum, you're the real people who have given me the support, advice the laughs, the difference of opinions, who have helped me from day one.
From the scientific threads, inspirational threads, sugar free threads and real life struggles, from the bottom of my heart I THANK YOU ALL for this forum and thank you all the real people.
Time for a beer and jelly!!!!
Kind regards
Andy
