what they have done has already ruined my business, my family relationships, my reputation and possibly my marriage. I have nothing else to lose.
I cant go I to details here but I am broken.

This letter is very useful. I've not had problems getting my strips yet but will save it just in case that changes.
Just one small niggly thing about the letter though- did anyone notice at the very end it says "TOO MANY COULD LEAD TO WASTAGE."
Who on earth do they think is wasting test strips? They think we test for fun? I can't think of any instance as a type one that you would be testing unnecessarily, unless you're literally doing it intentionally and testing every ten mins despite good blood glucose control. Bizarre!
You don't need a prescription in the UK to buy strips, you need a prescription to get free strips.Omg,! That's ridiculous that you need a script for strips! If u buy a darn meter why can't you just go buy strips . If your diabetic you should be part of a national scheme that let's you buy them at a discount rate. As many packets and anytime you want,! That how it's done in Australia.

Pop into any pharmacy - they will sell you as many test strips as you need ( and can afford )You don't need a prescription in the UK to buy strips, you need a prescription to get free strips.

Quite right if you are T1, but some T2s on here do not appear to understand the NICE guidelines for provision of test strips. I agree that it is anachronistic but we have to follow the rules not make them. It is a tough world, diabetes is a tough life. Let us try to take the heat out of it.WHY!
If you are T1 and have propped up the NHS for X years why pay at a high markup unless it is a real emergency.
Put your foot down for a fair allocation of strips. (If necessary buy from manufacturer - much cheaper than pharmacy!!)
