Sporty Forty.e t

I know, I know, guilty as charged! But do they really make enough difference to justify their existence?
I am beginning to think it is not such a bad idea to be without the wifi from time to time. I have only had a 15 min walk so far today. Guessing exercising fingers on keyboard doesn't count? Ok I'm off. bit more walking, stretching physio, as not up to much more at moment.

I think they do and I suppose if they help reduce global warming then that's a good thing.
There are loads of young lads employed by the windmill manufacturers etc so thats good too.
I think all the renewables have their place.

Nope, I just waited til mine left home then stripped the room to the bare plaster and refurbished and claimed it as my study, just in case he had any thoughts of returning.

Hi folks, been offline for 2 days whilst having a friends' reunion over the weekend. I had explained my T2 and dietary restrictions, and bless 'em got things like ratatouille, tapas and baked hake wrapped in bacon with (baked) runner beans - a Jamie Oliver recipe apparently. And strawberries/raspberries with mascarpone cheese. And a glass or two of red.

I only had 10 minutes on the rower on Friday before driving, but yesterday we all did a 7-8 mile walk over a period of about 6 hours, with a leisurely pub lunch and visit to a house on the way. Then back to watch the football and Tour highlights.

I'm now in a hotel near Heathrow with my flight to Côte d'Ivoire at stupid o'clock tomorrow morning, just about to climb a few stairs to burn off an early dinner.

Next transmission should be from Abidjan or thereabouts.

That all sounds fab.
The food sounds lovely too.

Well the first week has been completed. I managed a 45 minutes walk on each of the first three days and then at least an hour on the remaining four as I had a couple of days holiday and the weekend. The only slight problem was on Friday morning when I opted to walk into town to get my hair cut. As it was lovely and as it was warm I didn't wear a jumper or a jacket for the 90 minute round trip. It was only much later in the evenng that I realised my thin cotton shirt had offered little protection from the sun and I now have a sunburnt back which is slightly sore. D'oh!

Oh dear @julifriend. If you had been where I am on Friday you would have got a soaking as it was battering down with rain all day.
You put us to shame though with your dedication to the task.

I have been such a slacker today. Managed a 15 minute walk, then later walked for 8 minutes. Had company for dinner, so after they had gone I sat doing chair exercises. seems a cop out but did 10 mins chair exercises as I have had quite a bit of pain the last few days. Just finished doing some stretching physio exercises, which took 14 minutes. should only have taken 5, but I am moving slowly.

Will make more effort tomorrow.

Every little helps.
Look after the minutes they all add up

.....30 minutes' walk yesterday inbetween the bouts of rain but the ten minute bike ride makes up to the forty....started to do some twistboarding while watching the Wimbledon final but became engrossed in it....

....its not worth doing exercises if you're in pain Pipp, you've done so much prior to that you can add the extra time to yesterday's ;)

Thanks @Pollylocks
I am trying to keep moving, so I don't give in to pain. It would be so easy to just sit back and take painkilling meds, but it is important to keep mobile. Have to break it up into manageable chunks, but will walk a bit do Pilates and physio exercises until I can get in the water to do full 40 mins in one go. Will also work with physio and you god forum folk to come up with other ideas of how to move about more. Even tried ironing for a while the other day. Not my sort of exercise at all! Respect to zand the ironing champ.

Pollylocks, brilliant! Just wait til Bebo321 knows you have been cycling. She will have you for Team BG!
Whaaaaat?!
I've just started to catch up with you all! Pollylocks - you're cycling?!
That is brilliant!:D
