Fbg of 5.5 is good @LindsayJane.5.5 this morning
dinner: tuna steak and steamed courgette, with a mug of Alice's homemade veg soup.
Preprandial (evening meal), 5.6. Post prandial, 8!!!
Unusually high readings for me - any suggestions as to why would be greaty appreiciated - you might see something I've missed
Alice (my daughter who is also a chef - very handy) is very sympathetic to LCHF. The soup was cauli leaves and florettes, one onion and some celery cooked in home made chicken stock from the carcass of a roast chicken. No thickeners. No secret engredients. My portion was calculated at no more than 5g net carbs so it can't be that.Fbg of 5.5 is good @LindsayJane.
The Tuna & courgette would be low carb. Did Alice's homemade veg soup have potato, carby veg, or flour (thickener) in it?
Sending hugs and healing thoughts your way x x xI lowered my HbA1c from 65 to 49 over 3-4 months. Not out of the woods yet, but happy I'm going in the right directions. However, I may have NASH - the liver function tests are increasingly worse, so GP rang and said he'd book me in for an Ultrasound. Can't have it all, ey...

I suppose it could be but there is no way of knowing now. I'm back to normal (for me) anyway, which is a much more comfortable place to be. I do rather tend to get worked up by anomalies!!Could the 8 have been a rogue reading?
I do too but if I get a much higher/lower number than expected I just test again to be sure. All you can do now is have the meal again at a later date and make sure you test before and after and see if you get the same or similar resultI suppose it could be but there is no way of knowing now. Actually, I think now that it might have been coffee with sweeteners. I'll cut that out for a bit, see what happens.I do too but if I get a much higher/lower number than expected I just test again to be sure.
