    There is really nothing more I can add.You ALL have changed my life with the LCHF eating program.My wife and I are grateful beyond what I can express.You ALL have literally given me life.

    I am in remission with numbers now in the 'normal' person range steadily now.Been doing LCHF for 3 months.

    I tried to educate Dr today about LCHF,but he was very busy and best I got through to him was his stating...."so low carb lowered your weight and that fixed your glucose".Well at least he understood that low carb is effective diabetic treatment if not the why.Its a start.

    There isnt any more I can contribute here to whats been already been recorded.I will continue to lurk and have maybe a couple more replies to post to this thread.My next hbA1c will be in a month,I will post those results.Going forward my goal will be to do my best to help any diabetic I can to get the latest and best advice going forward,its what I can do,my little bit.It all adds up.

    You are all winners,all successful,all life changers.All different in approaches.All inspiring and fantastic educators.I truly bow to you and salute you,my gratitude cannot be expressed fully enough.

    May your lives be the best they can possibly be.Take care and Thank You.

    Spuds.

    Tuesday June 04
    FBG at 0700 was 5.7 (6 hours fasting), food yesterday was;

    Breakfast: honey nut cheerios w/2% milk, black tea, 500 mg metformin
    Lunch: 2 slices black forest ham on lettuce w/Keen's hot English mustard, black tea
    Dinner: 2 bowls homemade vegetable soup, 1/2 cup blueberries w/18% cream, cup of sake, 500 mg metformin
    Snack: 2 glasses sake
    Late late snack (0100): handful of blueberries plus cup of Schweppe's flavoured carbonated water

    Temp here 14C and skies hazy forest fires still burning. Undoubtedly FBG affected by late late night snacking but still below 6 so OK by me. Checking electrical system on Land Rover, previous owner has modifications for fog lights, heading out to examine Ford Ranger V6 engine.

    Good luck and try to stay on the bandwagon, keep using that blood glucose meter! My next A1C is on June 07 with a follow up trip to the doctor about a week later...

    Weds FBG @ 0500: 4.7

    Spent the previous day experimenting with a few (low) carbs; a few Ryvita Dark Rye (with a little peanut butter and cream cheese), and a cheeky couple of Michelob Ultra beers (2.1g carbs each).

    Plus some Pyscho Scratchings - naga chilli scratchings as an exciting snack (they were face melters).

    Finished the day at 5.8.

    Wednesday June 5
    FBG at 0800 was 5.3 (8 hours), food yesterday was;

    Breakfast: blueberries, honey nut cheerios w/2% milk, black tea, 500 mg metformin
    Lunch: zero, nuthin', black coffee
    Dinner: Splurged at Boston Pizza with individual sized Boston Royale pizza, pint of Rickards' Red beer, forgot to take metformin
    Snack: 2 shots of Bacardi white rum w/diet Pepsi, handful of Kirkland (Costco) brand salted mixed nuts

    Temp here at 0850 was 11C and skies are hazy. The carbs in the pizza dough and the beer undoubtedly make FBG numbers higher but still OK. Working on vehicle electrical system and engine removal preparations, planning and more planning...

    Thurs @ 07:30 - 4.5
    .... and hit 42lbs lost!

    Yesterday started well, with a Phd smart bar (choc, coconut and cashew) for 6.7g carbs and two boiled eggs as a mobile breakfast heading to a client site. BG moved a whole 0.4 from that - so appears agreeable.

    It all went downhill after that as the restaurant was closed, and I had utterly failed to pack a lunch. Took the opportunity to test how I'd handle a sandwich from Boots - chicken mayo and stuffing on wholemeal bread (numbers were something like 40g carbs, 20g fat, 22g protein if I recall) and a pack of olives. BG at the 2 hour post eating mark was 6.7, up from 5.4; so a 1.3 increase for that meal. That's ok, but too high a rise for my liking - and the spike at 1 hour post eating was horrifying, I hit 10.

    Lesson learned, and for dinner, had a slice of ryvita dark rye with a tablespoon of smooth almond peanut butter and a thick layer of cream cheese, plus some cucumber sticks and black olives, with raspberries and a small spoon of clotted cream to finish.

    Finished Weds on 5.1

    FBG at 0930 (9.5 hours fasting) was 4.2, food yesterday was;

    Breakfast: zero, nada, zilch, black tea, 500 mg metformin
    Lunch: handful of blueberries and handful of raspberries, black tea
    Dinner: roast chicken, roast potato w/butter and crushed garlic, green salad w/Kraft Russian dressing, glass of red wine, 500 mg metformin
    Snack: several glasses white rum w/diet Pepsi, chunk of semi-sweet baker's chocolate

    Temp here at 1010 was +1C, heavy thick snow melting mostly but turning to slush on our deck and patio furniture, skies cloudy. Hunting for A/C compressor for Chrysler 200, tracing electrical wiring on Land Rover, getting A1C test today made doctor's appointment for next Thursday to review results (good thing too, nearly out of metformin)...
