FBG at 0905 was 4.7 (9 hours fasting), food yesterday was;

Breakfast: zero, black tea, 500 mg metformin
Lunch: zero, black tea
Dinner: Ham sandwich (lettuce leaf no bread) with mayo, pickles, cheese, radishes, olives, black tea, 500 mg metformin
Snack: small glass of 2% milk, small cup of rice pudding

Temp here at 0600 was +12C and skies are cloudy. had torrential rains last night. Drank 2 large glasses of delicious tap water about 3 o'clock in the morning, likely why FBG was low even though had that rice pudding for a snack. Doctor's office cancelled my A1C appointment yesterday, and rescheduled for 0800 Monday morning, arranging all my tools for engine surgery tomorrow, our microwave oven "blowed up real good" yesterday, was going to fix it but parts (magnetron and door switch) are nearly as expensive as a new one, so recycler gets it. Odd thing about it is though, the screws on the back are "tamper proof" torx (center pin) so ordinary hand tools cannot remove them, luckily I possess the correct "tampering" type of tools... :)

FBG at 0800 was 4.8 (7.5 hours fasting), food yesterday was;

Breakfast: blueberries, honey nut cheerios w/2% milk, black tea, 500 mg metformin
Lunch: nuthin', black tea
Dinner: Restaurant western omelet (4 eggs green onions green peppers mushrooms and ham) with sliced tomatoes, Molson's Canadian beer (1), rye toast w/butter (1 slice), 500 mg metformin, black coffee
Snack: handful of blueberries

Temp here at 0800 was +13C, skies clear and predictions are for +21C today. Heading out to friend's shop to perform initial surgery on Land Rover engine #2, should be a productive day...

Been a bit complacent last couple of days

Dinner was a salad with spicy tuna... but later yogurt with fruit as a desdert....and that was the culprit i think....

FBG at 0640 (6 hours fast) was 5.8, A1C results from Dr. were 5.6, March 07 was 8.9, so doing well. Food yesterday was;

Breakfast: 3/4 cup honey nut cheerios w/handful of blueberries and 2% milk, black tea, 500 mg metformin
Lunch: 2 slices black forest ham w/hot English mustard, black tea
Dinner: 2 chunks of Italian salami, about 300 ml of Tostitos salsa sauce and about 20 Tostitos "scoops", small green salad w/Kraft Catalina dressing, glass of saki, 500 mg metformin
Snack 2 hefty swigs of white rum w/diet Pepsi
Late late snack at appx 0030 was small bowl of blueberries and cheerios w/2% milk

Temp here at 0645 was +14C, blue skies and looks like a perfect day. Too bad I succumbed to temptation and had that late late snack, but had an appointment at Dr.'s for 0800 and a bit anxious I guess. No worries, he was very pleased because my A1C went from 8.9 in early March to 5.6 as of last week, and he's decided to cut my metformin dose in half to 250 mg twice a day. Researching pre-oiler methods for new Land Rover engine and perhaps relaxing outside on this great (medical news and weather wise) day...

Breakfast: zero, nuthin', black tea, 500 mg metformin
Lunch: 2 chunks of black forest ham w/hot English mustard, 10 stuffed manzanilla olives, 2 pickled beets, black tea
Dinner: BBQ steak (small), baked potato w/butter and chopped green onions, handful of blueberries, glass of red wine, forgot to take metformin
Snack: Tostitos salsa sauce in about 10 corn flour "scoops", 4 hefty glasses of rum w/diet Pepsi

Temp here at 0700 +14C, light rain last night and skies clear now. Forgot to take metformin at dinner yesterday but FBG was below 6 this morning, so personal target met, even though salsa and corn flour "scoops" for snack. Examining options for engine pre-oiler kits for rebuilt Land Rover engine, getting set to travel to shop tomorrow for the big engine oil pressure test.

6.6 this morning... not great but not terrible... happy... good sleep is still eluding me some nights... got to bring some yoga and meditation back into life!!!!

Dinner was rocket lettuce... green peas... salmon (badly done by me )

Thanks, @midnightrider, I have been lurking in the shadows. :shifty: :wacky: Metformin has helped me get myself together. I do struggle with the 'menu' on a daily basis - what to eat, what not to eat... But the BG is back where it should be, so I'm happy. Had a HbA1C test yesterday, - I'm anxious about the results, I hope I hear back about it soon.
