Agreed, although personally I expect 100% commitment and a team that at least look like they want to win! That's really not too much to ask
 
Just shows how the rankings don't work in our favour, when the 28th ranked team beat the 10th 11th & 12th!!!

I've thought for a long time that England are too high in the rankings.

I know this game isn't over yet, but it just goes to show how utterly awful England are, Italy aren't playing that much differently in this game, but Costa Rica are head and shoulders above them

I dont agree with relying on getting through on some mathematical quirk, though if thats how it is then fair dos. However it says something about the psyche that a team hope to get in a group where they might get through because the opposition is poor. Surely the attitude should be to bring them on, to have the attitude that the team can beat anyone. Isnt that what makes a champion? Do Brazil worry about who they are playing?

ah, what do I know. I still can't understand why they dont just pick the ball up and run.

One of the things about British football is the 'get at them' attitude of the 'lesser' team. Don't let settle on the ball' 'stick your foot in'. 'Get in amongst them' etc.it's about not letting the other team play! If you do that againstWorld Class players, they will punish you!

It would be too easy, to play with your hands!
