Trying to conceive

Hey Sarahkylie88 I never told you how it went! My best mates hen party is this weekend so I've been pretty busy since I finished the DAFNE course! To be honest it wasn't like a proper clinic appointment I'd imagine because I was there to do DAFNE and they didn't want to hold me up but they are quite happy with my numbers and how I'm going! So hoping to hit the magic hba1c number of 7% in the next couple of months please God! DAFNE has done me the world of good although my metformin dose has been increased to 850mg 3 times daily and it's making me feel very nauseous! Any update with you?

Hi @scarlett10 and @wannabemammy good to hear you are both doing well! Glad they are pleased with u@wannabemanny and they you have had your DAFNE course now! I'm getting towards the end of my first cycle off the pill/ mirena. I feel a bit weird to be honest, but I haven't had a cycle in over 6 years and it's a lot longer then that since I've had a contraception free one! So time will tell! Also had blood tests the other day for clinic and j have my appointment tomorrow, first clinic appointment on the pump so we will see what's gone on there! Last Hba1c was 7% so anything under that is fab, think I may have shaved a few of the highs that I normally would have had off so fingers crossed? How often do u ladies have your appointments? X

Hi glade to here the course went well. I'm having my hbA1c done tomorrow and I am a bit disappointed my blood hasn't been as stable over the last few weeks as it has. Cycle still isn't normal.

Hope we all continue to get good news, at this moment I'm waiting on my next cycle so as to get my bloods done and also to get an ultrasound done.... not to mention I'll have to work that around my new job somehow...

It's good that things are moving forward for you @RoseofSharon. I know it is difficult trying to fit it all in. It is time consuming, but worth it in the end x

Went to DSN today. She is so lovely. We tweaked some of my time slots on my pump for early hours to try and get morning bloods down and then lower morning corrections as I often get low mid morning. No HbA1C as she wants to wait another 4 /6 weeks to make sure there is a difference and I don't get disappointed. I'm just so inpatient!

Well done @Sarahkylie88 on that hba1c that great! I see Nurse every 3 months and the consultant every 4-6 months at the moment. I have been to preconception clinic and i have removed my coil. The last few weeks i have had really unexplained highs which is not goos but its been back to where it has been this week. I have been under the weather with the virus thats going around so im hoping its that. I have my bloods checked every 12 weeks.

Ah @Sarahkylie88 that's a fantastic a1c result!!well done you must be so pleased!! I think when you get an amazing result like that it keeps you motivated as you don't want to lose it!! I See my clinic every 4-6 weeks so I'll have another hba1c when I go back late May. Actually can't wait to see the result! Bloods have been pretty good bar one or two highs! Have corrected them straight away so hoping and dreaming for a good result! Everyone on the thread seems to be going well and in the right direction!

How's everyone doing? I had a ultrasound earlier which showed nothing except a very small fibroid. Hopefully you're all getting better news.

Hi Rose, is the fibroid causing heavy periods? I also have a tiny fibroid, but scan results have shown no signs of endometeriosis returning and hbac1 is 7.6. Not sure what it needs to be prepregnancy or if anyone has fallen pregnant at this level... my vitamin D is low. I am still taking folic acid and pregnacare and considering buying an ovulation kit in the near future. X

Hi @slayer,

I have had heavy periods since a teenager so can't say if the fibroid is or is not causing them, but (sorry for the tmi) I have noticed that the clots every month are getting worse. I need to get my last hba1c from my doctors. All I can satisfy that I hope the hsg scan they're doing on Friday morning will be good news, however we will just have to wait and see. Let's just hope that we all get what we want soon.

My specialist said she thinks I may not have any fertility issues. They wanted to do a tube dye test but I'm too much of a wimp so they've put it on hold and are reviewing me in 3 months. Cutting out the gluten etc has made a massive difference to my periods and they are not as heavy. Doc also prescribed me strong painkillers called transnamic acid which are supposed to help reduce clotting. I have lost some weight so hormones seem to be settling down. Passing positive vibes to all xxx

Ooh the dye test is what I have on Friday (I'll let you know how I get on). Those pain killers sound interesting. I'm struggling on the losing weight though, as the weight loss seems to happen very randomly atm, although I have my suspicions as to what the problem may well be.

Please do try to find the courage to have the dye test done, as I had problems in my left Fallopian tube a couple of years ago (I didn't know until it was too late) which resulted in an ectopic pregnancy. The courage to have a dye test done is much preferable to having to go through that! If I'd have had the option before the ectopic, knowing what I do now I would have had the test done in a heartbeat! When the pregnancy was discovered I lost the child, the tube and half of my fertility in one fell swoop, I only tell you this as specialists do this test so as avoid as much as possible you having an ectopic.

I'm really sorry to hear about your loss, how awful :( was the dye test painful? Do they give you an anaesthetic? I have suffered with cramps and bad period pains most of my life, so am worried about passing out during the test!

So I had the hsg done this morning, on my way home now. It did hurt somewhat, but nothing much worse than the monthly cramps! The pain passed quickly enough.
