ok i'll be level with you i worry about nocturnal hypo's i have had atleast seven where i dont wake up each time i drop i seizure so i cant go to bed with normal sugars ill eat some crackers (too many to raise my sugar) so i dont hypo
i didn't take any extra because i was at 9.0 for a change this morning and had lots of exercise plannedHey @chris85 type 1 Honestly I don't care and I think most of us on this thread don't care what you eat, it's learning to dose properly is the only reason we would ask. Don't worry about what you eat so much as to dose for what you eat. We are all better off if we eat healthy but that's not the point.
So when I say Weetabix and toast are more carbs, I don't care you ate it, I am just saying it has more carbs? I eat what I want, whether it's 120 carb pizza or a 20 carb veggie bowl. So the trick here was if you double portioned your food in the morning did you take extra insulin to account for it? And if you did enough extra? The enough would be judged by if you are at "normal" levels 4 hours later. I prefer to be normal in 2 hours too, but it is harder to accomplish that! Get down the basics and then you can start fine tuning!!!!!
thank you@chris85 type 1 please don't despair. Every T1 deserves all the help they can get from wherever it comes. Go for DAFNE, it'll help a lot and when I did mine (many years ago!) I got great comfort from being in the same room with a group of T1s as for the first time I was surrounded by people who really got it. In fact my group stayed in touch and met up regularly for years afterwards.
I think you've had some great advice already and I don't need to add to that, though I would suggest you really hammer the point about your night-time hypos when you see your diabetes team. It may be that you'd be considered for cgm with alarms? Whatever, good luck, and keep asking questions, this is such a great source of knowledge and information.
thing is i care for my mother so i get paid ****** all theres no way i could afford even half off these gizmosI heard the Tandem & Dexcom combination is pretty sweet too. Chris, you need to stay in contact with your team in order for them to help you. Like you, I had a few hypoglycaemia accidents where I needed an ambulance and I wouldn’t have gotten the help today if I hadn’t joined this forum and if i wasn’t pestering them and staying on board with their advice. You don’t have to live with high blood sugars with the fear of nocturnal hypos and you especially don’t have to feel poopie all day because of high blood sugars.

i already feel like a waste of resources i dont deserve techChris, if you go to your next appointment, explain the situation to them, they can apply for funding for diabetes technology providing that you fit under the criteria, which I am confident that you do.
This also depends on where in England, different CCGs have different fundings and some do have issues with getting libres and CGMs
sorry my badall i said was ***** with an extra *
Please don't try to circumvent the forum's automated expletive deletion.
