Mildly, I’ve been in ITU due to flu before. I have asthma as well. If/when we do all get it, keeping on top of bg is key, so making sure you have a good stash of test strips is probably a good idea x

Are you particularly worried?
Not yet just hope I got a good emun system

@Japes Switching can be the best thing. I had an endo I refused to go back to and I switched GP's and that was the only reason I finally got diagnosed right. Some doctors aren't worth seeing.

Indeed. Fantastic Doctor was the 4th different GP after the initial T2 misdiagnosis. Number 1 told me "Adults don't get T1", Number 2 told me it was entirely my own fault for being morbidly obese, and to just take the maximum amount of meds going - luckily I moved house at that point and had to change practice, then there was the "specialist" mentioned in previous posts and then finally I got to Fantastic Doctor who was the one to get the correct diagnosis for me. (And the one to apologise for the crassness and errors of the previous 3 when the results came through.)

Still, I am eternally grateful that I happened upon this one at the critical point, that my diabetes care now basically comes via the Diabetes Clinic and they're happy to keep me on, even if in the current climate my routine appointment with them has been postponed for six months.

I had been told by my GP that I ended up switching from, that medications wouldn't work at all if I was a type 1. I still ran into a nurse a couple of years ago that said I could cure it because I didn't get it as a kid. The misinformation that still exists.

Morning all. Had a very loooong walk yesterday afternoon as my puppy wouldn't come back, so ended up losing her then pursuing her across muddy fields for some time. Good exercise but stressful, and good job I always have jelly babies with me!

I think as a consequence of all that I went to bed okay bg wise but didn't sleep well and woke up on an 11 - pah! More puppy (and owner!) training needed.....

Hello friends,

A bit of a hypo city this morning, the kind where you are eating everything and it doesn’t move your BG. I might lose my job due to the Coronavirus, manager said the company has lost £150k in cancellations in 3 days. With that in mind, a lot of places have stopped hiring.

Morning all!

Pondering if there's actually going to be anyone other than me and the vicar at church this morning! Not that we count as a large gathering, but we do have a large proportion of elderly, frail and vulnerable people.

Can't quite decide if I was just mentally exhausted by the high levels of madness out there yesterday or the longest walk of the year so far. Possibly a mixture - or the sheer effort involved in keeping my mouth closed to avoid telling random strangers they were being stupid. I think the prize goes jointly to the man who didn't stop spouting nonsense whilst waiting in the pharmacy and the pharmacy assistant in the pharmacy (not my usual one) I was having a "Let's patronise small shops who's business might be suffering" moment and getting my occasional box of co-codamol whilst on my walk. I queried the price "Oh, all the prices are up because of this virus..." the assistant assured me. The man then switched tack as I was paying with a £5.00 note about how I was risking spreading germs and infecting everyone in the shop. The point was valid, but the method was not. I walked out shaking my head which brought another diatribe on my head... I am to be commended for the above sheer effort keeping my mouth closed beyond a remark about immoral opportunistic price rises.

Hello friends,

I’m super mad, my bf and I were about to do our weekly shop and so far, asda and tesco have nothing. There’s a huge difference between hoarding/ panic buying and restocking your own fridge what were people doing before this pandemic? Did everyone magically transformed into a clean fairy? Smh. My mum is worried about me and she said she is willing to help out if I can’t get anything.
The residents that I look after, some of them have throat infections and the sniffles. So I feel something lingering but I’ve been keeping an eye on my BG.

I took a friend to hospital on Monday. The waiting room couldn't have had chairs any closer and was rammed. A seat next to me came free and a very large elderly woman with a walking frame sat next to me. My friend was elsewhere being treated so I was alone, reading my book. The woman proceeded to complain to the people to the other side of her about how 'they' haven't told us what to do, whilst coughing without covering her mouth at all. She then turned to me, literally bent across me so she was inches from my face and asked me to get her some water as she couldn't manage to carry it with her walking frame. I was so stunned I simply did it, speechless. My friend retunred at that point and we left before I had time to come to my senses and say something helpful rather than just being rude.

I’ve had five trips to two A&E departments overnight and they’re deserted. Just goes to show that most of the things people turn up for can be dealt with perfectly well at home. Shift started with an RTC and ended with a stabbing via a couple of collapsed drunks, a sick baby and a “nana down”. Was quite eventful! No corona jobs tonight, which was nice. Lots of “flashing & dashing” which is exciting but knackering. Bloods lovely and steady despite all the excitement :)

Morning, another high (13.7)to wake to :( and my cold's not going anywhere yet and I had an extra 8u in bits yesterday, I've had a rage bolus for breakfast so I'll play today by ear, a Sunday session in't gym as yesterdays was missed as I'd had my young one over.

I need to hit the supermarket shortly on the new bog roll hunt, bad timing this as Morrisons did have 18 rolls of andrex @ £9 but they've had no stock recently and I'm busy discovering how out of date fresh eggs can be and how long Cravendale can last in a tub of cold water, I recently re did my kitchen and have a smaller fridge and freezer :banghead:

Enjoy your Sunday :)

Happy Sunday guys, with all that is going on, I can say I have had a really nice few days and enjoying life and being happy, Awoke on a 4.2, I had a small Frube yogurt and it's in single figures 8.4, no NovoRapid, only my Tresiba.
Take care out there and stay safe :)

I'd been beaten on the bog roll hunt and the gym was eerily quite empty, but when it's like that there's no-one to mither you if you reach over the counter and turn up the music and no-one turns it down :) :), bloods are still bouncy but this libre must be a second :p omelette for tea and a tub of humous which is a little low carb for me but I've snacked on a scotch egg and a ham hock quiche so for good order and discipline I'll have to lump it...

What's the next move on paramedic training @LooperCat?

Steady as she goes here, nothing to report bg wise other than weird late evening rise still happening......
