Morning all!
Pondering if there's actually going to be anyone other than me and the vicar at church this morning! Not that we count as a large gathering, but we do have a large proportion of elderly, frail and vulnerable people.
Can't quite decide if I was just mentally exhausted by the high levels of madness out there yesterday or the longest walk of the year so far. Possibly a mixture - or the sheer effort involved in keeping my mouth closed to avoid telling random strangers they were being stupid. I think the prize goes jointly to the man who didn't stop spouting nonsense whilst waiting in the pharmacy and the pharmacy assistant in the pharmacy (not my usual one) I was having a "Let's patronise small shops who's business might be suffering" moment and getting my occasional box of co-codamol whilst on my walk. I queried the price "Oh, all the prices are up because of this virus..." the assistant assured me. The man then switched tack as I was paying with a £5.00 note about how I was risking spreading germs and infecting everyone in the shop. The point was valid, but the method was not. I walked out shaking my head which brought another diatribe on my head... I am to be commended for the above sheer effort keeping my mouth closed beyond a remark about immoral opportunistic price rises.
