Afternoon all, the promised sunny day here in Somerset has been interrupted by a serious downpour, though the sun's out again now. I know it's a real thing but I'm still always surprised by the power of weather to affect people's mood, mine included.
I drove back home late yesterday night, and the weather definitely changed my mood to surprised!
It was a very clear night, I could see lots of stars even through my dirty car windows. (Yes, I do clean them but my car is parked right next to a rural road with lots of muddy tractors so they don't stay clean for more than a couple of hours.)
But about 5 times during the 30 minutes drive I drove through fog banks thick enough to feel I was driving through the clouds.
And on top of that there was lightning all the time in the north, despite it being beautifully clear where I was driving!
@Antje77 looks like you found some great places, who looked after your animals while you were away?
I'm very lucky to have my neighbour living in a trailer in my garden!
He fed everyone and even had my dogs sleeping in his bed.

Until the summer of 2021 he lived in a chalet in the garden of my other neighbours but they needed the chalet for their children so he was evicted. And we decided the easiest solution would be for him to buy a trailer and put it in my garden.
It was quite the adventure getting it there too. You can't see it in the picture, but it needed to be lifted on the front and the back, so on the other side is a tractor driving backwards, with both the drivers using mobile phones to try to drive at exactly the same time as to not drop the trailer!
And this is how it looks now, painted in camouflage colours and connected to the sewer, gas and water. The smaller caravan is his 15 year old son's room, he decided he's rather live with his dad than with his mum so he moved in as well.
