Morning!
Late start to the day as I had a lie in after I'd done the 5.45 a.m. basal thing, and correct the waking high from the excitement of being in the City Centre on a Friday night and escorting our newest churchwarden home on the bus from the official service for churchwardens along with the two warden's staves (traditionally for dealing with the rowdy element in churches in days gone by, now an official symbol of office) which are heavy and have quite ornate brasswork on the top.
No one, but no one, messed with me at 9.30 p.m. in the City Centre with those two staves in my hands.nor did the bus driver who was one of the ones inclined to try and miss my stop if running late.
I did then wake up on a much more acceptable number.
Errands this morning, last of the outstanding paperwork this afternoon, sermon this evening, then prepare to hole myself up, apart from church, tomorrow as a closed road 100km cycle race is going through my area causing chaos to those of us who might want to be foolish enough to get on with other things away from home, chaos to bus routes, but which is a joy and a delight to cyclists and those who love watching them go by plus raising lots of charity money as well.
Cake will be made tomorrow, but no point trying to get to me unless you're going to fight the cyclists.... or deal with my students on Monday when the promised cake doesn't materialise!
