Huge hug @SueJB - make sure you have hypo treatment next to the bed for easy and rapid access.
Perhaps that holiday is just what you need? We all get disheartened sometimes and a shake up in routines can help.

Morning, I had a bad night with a very painful throat, excess white frothty phlegm, which made me heave up 3 times, left side of head is painful and head feels heavy.
Throat is feeling a little better now, sipped some tea too, but throat still sore.

Difficult one!.. My misses has only phoned for an ambulance once. That was when I was Lo and convulsing on the bed! They cam, glucagon jab and 5 mins later I was fine. You managed to deal with your 1.7 so big thumbs up for you.

@Robinredbreast congrats on the "Escort" job . Not going to say any more on that one x

At least you didn’t try to eat the dog!

Normaly He's interested in what I'm scoffing.. I knew what item of clothing or bag pocket I had treatment in.
Somehow it all got pushed to the cab of the van. The hound had it all dumped on him in the melle..

All packed up & ready to move on now.
I'm loving this traveler life..

Hi @SueJB Why do you think you went so low ? An ambulance is necessary if you required assistance to bring round, so unable to treat yourself, it's a rare event to have this assistance but also do you have a glucagon pen for injections at home ? My DSN made me get one but haven't ever needed it, thank goodness.

Sorry to hear you've not well @Robinredbreast - you can get an excellent throat spray from the chemist which numbs sore throats, bought one for my partner yesterday as he went home ill from work, worked brilliantly, sorry I can't remember the name but it's an over the counter thingy.

Thanks all. @porl69, @Diakat @Juicyj @Mel dCP, @helensaramay and everyone
To answer your questions @Knikki. I haven't changed anything in my life apart from not doing any spinning, can't be bothered. Food is the same, generally low carbish rarely more than 50g a day except when I'm on holiday. Yesterday wasn't one.
I inject Levemir, morning around 7.30 and roughly the same time in the evening. Was a tiny dose 4mmols for both but have dropped this to 3mmols to see if that helps.
Last night I was a piglet and had some Polish choc cherries and went to bed 10pm with a lovely 7.8
Woke at 1.30 this morning 10.6 so stuck in 1.5 Novorapid and then at 3.45am = 1.7
I don't think the Novoslug should have dropped me that much so when I woke this morning 13.4, I've left it and not corrected, worried that if I do it'll send me funny. I checked the pen and I had put in 1.5mmols.
My next appointment isn't until November
@Diakat, hypo treatments are by the bed, in bags and every room but I knew I needed more that just glucotabs and went for choc biscuits. I should be sanguine about the hypos as you've all be dealing with the Evil D for ages and doing well. Hard and the problem now is I want to keep testing to see if I'm OK so I'd love a Libre but don't fit the NICE criteria which isn't nice. Thanks for all your support

I don’t think we’ll ever be sanguine about values under two!
Hope today is better for you. Perhaps try some nice me time with outside breaks or a bath, whatever works for you to relax.

Hope your nasty throat/cough/headache doesn’t last too long @Robinredbreast, take it very easy, lots of rest and painkillers. Hug.
Yes, hypos are the Evil D’s hellbent children @Sue JB, but well done for recovering even though the high followed. Ironically if you still have the ability to ring for an ambulance when hypo then it’s probably not the time to ring for one, one of the Evil D’s worst tricks. A comforting thought - when blood sugars fall the liver’s instructed to release glucose, hence the highs that can follow a hypo even if only the carb to correct is eaten. The dangerous lows are like the one @Knikki describes, frightening I know, and a good reason to get a libre and links for warnings.
I wonder if you’re still sometimes releasing a bit of endogenous insulin? Hope the talk with your med team will be reassuring and helpful. Hug.

Morning
@SueJB I hope you're feeling better! I still recommend that jam sandwich. Did you call your team to discuss it on the phone what may be causing the hypos?

Today I woke up at 10.5 and took tresiba and continued sleeping because hormone monster said "I felt like I've been run over by a truck". So now i'm back on the land of the living and at 12.7, waiting for novorapid to kick in for some food.

Thank you, but I can't go our, I don't feel right and still heaving up the frothy stuff.

Thanks @MeiChanski better but not happy

2 hypos yesterday and 2 more today
Went as low as 3.3 just now and didn't feel a thing this time, my fingers are beginning to hurt from all this pricking. Should I just stuff a load of biscuits inside me instead of glucotabs and cheddars?
Worked out the cause yet @SueJB ?

@SueJB commiserations, I agree with those who suggest a chat to your diabetes team. Hypos in the 2s are bad enough; below that can be frightening, though there's been loads of good advice from others. Hope you get it sorted and that your mood improves; you can live with T1 and you've done that really well so far - the fact that you coped with a 1.7 hypo proves it.

@Antje77 those are some haircuts, we've got a seriously rock-on new moderator, congrats!

@Knikki commiserations, next time!

If you've lost your hypo awareness this is something you absolutely must tell your diabetes team, along with how often you are testing (be sure and log every test) and they might think about a Libre for you perhaps. They will probably advise you to try and run your levels higher than you usually do to help avoid hypos. The less you have, the more aware of them you are for some of us. I lost my awareness but it only took me a few months to get it back and now I can feel it if I'm down to about 3.8 which is handy and avoids going down to the OMG levels.

Perhaps make sure they check your kidneys as well @SueJB when you see the doctor/nurse and given the frequency of your hypos the sooner the better to visit.

Thanks @Knikki, it's an idea but I reckon 10.6 means there was a fair amount of glucose sloshing going on. But the double whammy might be right.
The dilemma now when I wake in the middle of the night is to test or not.

got laptop out to do some holiday purchases on ive spent the last half hour looking for glasses only to find them perched on the top of my head

Love the happy dancing @helensaramay
