So diabetes and I played a risky game, I ate food - my delicious chickpea salad and had my iced coffee, then took Fiasp for it. Now we wait. :hilarious:

I made one extremely delicious roasted chick pea salad again. I am a bit frustrated because my consultant said do different ratios but he gave me whole units Fiasp prefilled pens. I took a unit of Fiasp for my chick pea salad and within an hour, I dropped like a plank. I guess back to Novorapid since thats in a half unit pen?

You could ask your GP for Fiasp cartridges and use them in the Echo pen you use for Novo - might be worth sticking with the Fiasp experiment?

I have placed my prescription for them since my consultant wrote to my GP. But when I was initially given them at the hospital it was prefilled whole unit pens. Of course that isn't helping towards my hypos or my experiment to implement different ratios. :(

‘He Ra Pai’ teabags, won’t be doing very much today, even though the cooler air says get going.
Yesterday’s journey home was blessed compared with the last trek back from the East Midlands. Hottest afternoon of the year so far in aircon trains. Even had to do a few corrections as basal had been reduced in readiness for the heat.
Tired now though after a few days of full on activities.
Younger daughter and family are much much closer to their Big Adventure plan. Son in Law had an interview on Friday which seems 99% likely to mean he’ll have a job in NZ. They have enough points to get there without work but would need to wait longer for visas to come through.
Me: a mix of vicarious pleasure and excitement, devastation that they’ll be so far away and joy that we’ll be able to go and stay with them once they’re settled. I promised myself a few years ago that I’d c lebrate turning 70 by going to NZ.
Oh, and 3.7 on waking so 1 jellybub and pretty steady till now. Foot on the floor feeling lazy too today.

Going to NZ will also be a celebration of 50 years with T1 so I’d better b well get there!

Hope the cartridges will come through this week. You May have to ask the GP for them directly and explain why you need them.

It's a huge thing @Fairygodmother but I remember when my last boss' eldest daughter moved to Australia he was devastated, but he loved going out there on holiday. He adored the place, and I truly think if he'd been younger he'd have wanted to go too. He was a great man to work for - I was with him 28 years and was very happy, angry, irritated, pleased - all of those in turn, but I was never ever bored until he retired. (Which drove me into a job change at 60!)

That was a gorgeous breakfast! I had home made seitan bacon, fried mushies and tinned cherry tomatoes, with a sourdough roll. For some reason it just worked and was delicious. I have a good breakfast everyday but today's just hit the spot perfectly.

Tutti is going out with son and d-i-l - they like going on walks with her, and it's good for her too.

I can crack on while the kids are out playing haha!

Both our daughters have travelled, older daughter worked in Fiji then in NZ, and then a couple of years splitting her time between NZ and the USA before she came back here and settled, who knows how long for? Younger daughter spent a year in Canada then she and s-i-l worked in France and NZ during uni summers so we know what it’s like to have them far away.
We want them to have choices and feel really pleased they wish to integrate in other places. I think the Big Adventure’s come about because of U.K. work/life situations, and mid-life rosebud gathering.
Very excited for them despite horrid devastation.

Greeting fellow teabgas/colanders hope you are all having a good weekend

Noticed over the past few days that a lot more of us seem to be entering hypo land and more often. Most of the morning I have been cruising just above hypo, which for me is pretty unusual, I would normally be around BG of 7/8.

Could this be due to change in weather, we are experiencing this?

Maybe. I know I’ve found I need less insulin in warm weather and places, unless I go overboard on delicious carby food, or eat the whole food board!

I have worked like stink and cleared the craft room of all the rubbish and donating stuff. That means I get tomorrow off with nothing to do, so we can go out! Yippee!!

Now we have to think where we'd both like to go....

My mugwort hasn't come yet! Still, there's always chamomile.

It occurred to me today that I could take a suitable mixture to work and brew, so I have bought a tea ball. (I have an infuser pot at home but that doesn't seem practical at work). That will be great when I arrive at the office. I am always first, and always early and I would far rather sit with a good cup of tea than start work the second I arrive (which is what I do at the moment).

Hope equilibrium returns soon @Knikki and @becca59.
Just seen a youngish grass snake in the pond, about 14” of it and told it to lay off the smaller creatures. Wondered why two frogs came aleaping out of the bushes in panic earlier.

Evening all. Went strawberry picking today. I ate more than I put in the box lol....they should weigh you b4 you start picking. Bolused throughout and alarmed on the way home to a nice high, caught it at 14....now sitting on a nice 6......

Evening chaps, I met a T1 in the wild while on CFR call at a village festival today, and we had a great chat - tagging @Simmo76 to come and join the madhouse!

Gig last night was amazing, went a little high with all the excitement but had a steady night, even after schmoozing at the after show party. Here’s a vid I shot of part of the evening:

In other news, remember I bruised my big toe and had to have a large portion the nail off about six months ago? Well, it grew back nicely, almost to the end of my toe and I’ve gone and done it again. Looks like a blister under the nail, the whole thing is very pale and lifting away. So I guess it’ll be another trip to the podiatrist... currently loosely held down with rock tape so I don’t catch it on anything and rip it off before it gets seen. Got my medical for uni tomorrow, so will get it looked at after that. Fingers crossed, eh?

Hope you all had a lovely Sunday x

Fingers crossed for you Mel. I'm sure it'll be fine.

Our local DUK group meeting this mnth had a speaker from the Air Ambulance Service. All of their paramedics have to do a fitness test, due to the potential for having to lug a 20kg bag of kit some distance, when the helicoptor can't land close to the incident.

He was an excellent speaker.
