The meter mover and drilling of a large hole in the wall. The meter's being moved from an inside cupboard to a box onto the outside wall. I gain a kitchen cupboard.
 
Did another “couch to 5k” stagger up and down my lane a couple of hours ago, wearing the proper kit this time. Wasn’t as hard as the first one, and I set my pump to 10% with a slightly higher target 15 mins before going. Was fine in the fives until about an hour ago, when I’ve rocketed to 9.5 - whether that’s the hot bath I’m sat in or me not having enough insulin, I’ll find out when I get out! If it’s not the bath, I’ll try basal at 20% next time.

First one I did was wearing my seriously serious Haix paramedic boots. I’m not risking my lovely purple DMs up our rough lane! I nicked my son’s trainers
 
My 2 week old sensor was very attractive, crusty blood, crusty dry skin and dry patch scar. But that needed itch was very nice
 
Oh cat. Seriously mis thingied my takeaway and have a lovely 2.5 to show for it. Oops. FOUR dextrose tabs to fix this one! Now at 2.8 and trending up. That’s the lowest I’ve been for over a year. Wonder if the “run” earlier may have contributed. Can’t possibly be the gin
 
I used to have to adjust the bolus downwards for the meal after a long distance row. Anything over 10k had an effect that last for the following few hours. The further the distance, the greater the effect and the longer it lasted. Afraid it was trial and error and a lot depended on the degree of effort I'd put in. Just poodling needed less adjustment than working to the max.
 
Morning all, busy week but not too busy to go and choose my puppy. She's still very baby so I can't bring her home for five weeks Have had a week of hypos, am guessing it's due to the heat, so I changed everything yesterday, still low late afternoon so who ate everything and woke up on a seriously shoddy 12? Not funny.

So, by 8.30 p.m. last night, 76 hours after my neighbour's gas leak, I have a working gas supply once more, a meter on the outside wall ("Costs a lot to do this usually." the three men on the case all informed me. along with all their different takes on the mess ups in communications all round.) I have bathed, and am planning today's cooking. I did without an oven for over a year when I moved in here, as I didn't really use one much but three evenings without my gas hob has been more than enough.

@Robinredbreast . I did taxi escort for a few months three years ago and the two families are still grateful for the way I handled it to get their off-spring to and from home well and happy, but understood why I had to stop doing it at their point I did. One of them I still see from time to time, and he is always pleased to see me. The other saw me in the supermarket one day recently, and immediately burst into our "Taxi Song" mid- Sainsbury's! (It was a bit of a nonsense song based on the vehicles and shops we saw between college and home.)

I think it's much more common to get overwhelmed with student presents from very grateful parents in the specialist education sector! Though, I was relieved this year only to get a book (A lovely one and really thoughtful choice as his mum told me he'd informed her of my diabetes, my love of reading and my love of walking, so she helped with the idea of a book as an option, but he chose the book.) and a bottle of wine which I passed on to Main Paid Colleague. Who will not be my main colleague next year, unless something drastic happens between now and September. Always a high possibility, as we both know how systems work at our place. There's often a shake-up in support allocation, which is unshaken two months into the new year when what had been a solid working team has collapsed in a heap because the real lynchpin of the team had been removed. (Both of us have been through it before, and after much angst decided to play the long game of wait and see rather than a fight to keep things as they are has served well in the past.)

It's fair to say, this morning Madame DP took total advantage of my utter exhaustion, lack of usual exercise over the last three evenings, and just to remind me she's still on the case, to dump as much on me as possible.
 

Hi @Japes , that sounds so endearing I may have the run in September, I really don't know what will happen. Also the lads, I believe, only have a year left, so lots and lots of paperwork involved. As I live in a different town, I doubt I will see them again socially, I just hope they continue to get the right education for them, as they need such a lot of support and you meet some lovely families.
 
Morning and Happy Saturday, it's the weekend I tested during the night, 4am and my BG was rising, so I had 1 unit of Insulin and I awoke on 6.6
Going out this afternoon, probably to a summer fete, then out for dinner somewhere.
Just on my first cuppa and I need another one to fully wake me lol
 
And the score for test strips and needles missing the sharps bin which used to hide behind the meter in the Former Meter Cupboard was 2 original self-funded meter strips, 2 original GP meter strips, 4 Tee-2 strips, 3 Glucomen BS strips and 2 Glucomen Ketone strips. The Glucoment meter is the clinic issued one.

No needles, which is what I'd warned the gas meter men about.. Sharps bin now got a cupboard to itself until I decide which other things can go in after the kitchen deep clean later in the week.
 
Didja see the Federer/Nadal match yesterday? My son and I were texting back and forth while it was on. We both so wanted Roger to win, and he did! We agree we don't much mind if he loses the final; the really huge thing was to beat Nadal, 11 years after their last Wimbledon match when Roger lost (that amazing, truly epic final)

Looking forward to the ladies final today. Dunno whether to root for Serena as a returning mum, or Halep as a great fighter.

Oh, and wish me luck guys. Hairdresser at 9.00 a.m. and last time my usual hairdresser wasn't there. I made the huge mistake of accepting her assistant's offer to do it. I have had every mirror in the house blacked out ever since.......

Hopefully my hairdresser will be back today and can sort it out. Nothing off the length - last time the woman scalped me! - but just do something. Sprinkle some magic dust?

They are lovely lads, these two, and they became friends as a result of the hours they spent in the taxi together. (Only 4 miles each way from home/college, though.) I don't see them often, though, since they left college. I do my best to avoid outside college sightings of students! The advantage of Former Main Paid Work in a town 30 miles away was that I didn't see colleagues or students outside of college time, unless they'd come over to my City Centre for shopping and I'd done a rare go to the City Centre moment.

Our criteria for being asked to do the taxis was based on the fact we lived somewhere on the route already to minimise the hours over-time paid to us! Mixing it with the classroom support work just didn't work for me or my usual students. Or my developing diabetes stuff as it became almost impossible to get a GP/DSN appointment around the unpredictability of the traffic.
 
Guys I took reading this morning and I was like ***. Why Aint I having a hypo I feel fine. Then I thought I better re test then it hit 6.5. Lucky I did and not go to my naughty cupboard to eat sugar things other wise the correct reading would been sky high. Anyone else had this before?
 
I've not seen anything that way out on the low side on a meter. On Libre if I've slept on it, and high on a meter if I've handled something sweet and not washed my hands, but not low. Btw how did you get on at the hospital on Wednesday?
