I’m useless at this pasting lark but here goes

YouTube

It’s supposed to be Elctric Light Orchestra Great Balls of Fire but I’ll give up now

Morning y'all, I woke hypo but I'm ok, treated it and then had my bolus +.5u then have waited till I dropped back to 5 before eating my 'new' porridge which is jumbo oats at 56g carbs per 100g :p Sunday science of porridge.

@Robinredbreast sorry but am chuckling at the duvet change :) are you like me who ends up stood inside it fighting with it or one of those who can put the new duvet cover on with just a flick? :) Good music Motown too :)

I had my little uns night bumped to tonight so I'm going to start emptying mums house this morning (I'll dig all my early 80s Blondie posters out :p), the rabbits running round whilst his run dries and I've him to catch yet, which is always fun....

I had a hypo at 5am treated and went back to bed and slept till 9am

Wishing you a good day

Well after my pretty good day yesterday had a curry and rice last night. Bed was 8.7 but through the night it had gone to 12.1, quick correction and woke to an 8.9

Hope you all have a great day

PS youtube is wonderful, you could stay on there all day, and I sometimes do

It’s raining again! Whoopie! That’s the second time after a few weeks’ dry. Time to get out there and dance in it.

Rain’s stopped now, hope I didn’t make it feel unwanted. I noticed today that there are yellow leaves on the cherry plum already

Morning all, @Robinredbreast I just adore “Lost on You” since I saw it played live on Jools Holland a while ago. I’m a rabid Alarm fan :) Their new single “Beautiful” is all about smiling on the outside when you’re struggling inside, especially with an invisible illness, in this case leukaemia. Works for me, too.

Not been around other than a mild lurk for a few days, sugars been alrightish but not brilliant. Top end of range or just over, if I could knock it all down by 1mmol I’d be happy enough.

Have a lovely Sunday, friends. We’ll be attempting to replace our knackered living room light fittings with ones that look like a Death Star :D

I as wondering where you had got to :)

I was half expecting all the tech you use to become self aware and so :borg::borg: and change your name to "I am Mel of Borg" :hilarious:

I don't think you're too far from me (in the scheme of things) and we've had zero rain today (or yesterday for tha matter).

Hi, guys, for those of you fighting the good fight to get ccgs to fund libre, thought you might be interested in the study at this link:

https://www.easd.org/myeasd/home.ht...sessment-8a6a88d2-bfdc-43e2-80ec-6474b8018cbc

NHS Lothian started funding libre in February and they used the opportunity to ask previous self-funders (I was one of them) who attended the education sessions to fill in a questionnaire.

They then went off and queried their computer systems to figure out changes in a1c in longer term users.

The results were pretty good: median 3 mmol/mol decrease; people achieving target of sub-58 increased from 28.9 % to 42.6%.

These are described as "clinically significant", effects on quality of life should not be underestimated, and greater efforts are required in ensuring equity of access.

It's all too easy for us to knock the NHS and docs, but it's encouraging to see that the team at ECED are on our side.

Bit surprising, though, that of the 2200 invited, only 650 attended.

The ccgs who are holding out on funding are always citing "lack of clinically significant evidence". ECED has a pretty decent reputation, so, hopefully, ccgs might pay attention to this, on top of the recent SHTG Advice Statement:

I went to a smaller education session at the end of March, it was a late afternoon one, 4 pm. Most of the people there did look youngish, there was only one older woman there, who came with her walking frame. But the rest looked like they'd left work early.

So I can see how initial take up might be amongst the younger and more affluent. Though the February education sessions were accompanied by some quite bad weather, and they were in the evening So those education sessions would have been more accessible to that group.

It's very exciting though. I think since then they have done a few Sundays. Also people who get the letter might not know what Freestyle Libre is, at first, so the most aware will turn up first.

The data is very exciting. They are going to have loads more to work with, as the NHS patient results come through, it's nice to have seen them doing it close up.
