Ever try Contac? A runny nose is the bit of a cold which bugs me more than any of the rest of it, but a couple of tablets of Contac really dries it up.
How far up your nose do you push them then???????:wideyed:

Good morning everyone. Up early to see the moon. Fab! No swimming today, been battling another cold, curtesy of grandson. Lots of injections yesterday battling the rising sugar levels. ☹️

Morning Lovers :)

All sort of OK round here except the M6 was closed for two junctions near here which means that the traffic just barfs out on to the surrounding areas, so 12 mile trip took over an hour ~sigh~

Anyway had coffee and now listing to Dub, heavy base which is slowly liquefying everything between my ears with the bass :)

Bloods? better than yesterday.

Oh and everyone else can keep your cold to yourself ;)

@kitedoc Thank you for thinking/ dreaming of me. I had been wondering about the term "sledging" but I don't think it fits quite right.

I'm sure you must have seen some ghastly things in your time. I'm new to this but I think beer and insulin is something of a Ponzi scheme. I certainly started dropping pretty fast - when the alcohol kicked in - last night fortunately we were having steak and chips for tea so I was able to calculate a soft landing. I only hope the global financial system will be so kind!

Good luck with your ailments everybody and happy Monday!

Hi @Shellback, having a soft place to land is mandatory! It rattles the bones too much other-wise. Glad you achieved it.
Sledging in Aussie terms is like blatant criticism, name-calling usually in an attempt to disrupt the other's concentration, such as a fieldsman to a batsman in cricket. In its severest sense there is nothing friendly or joking about it. There is no sense of playfulness, fairness or goodwill involved.
A very mild form of it might cross over with the Aussie art of knocking someone but the lack of goodwill, lack of spite and the wish to embarrass, intimidate or slander the other is not there.
I hope that is clearer than mud. The financial system will unfortunately be going pear shaped because it is a full moon !!

Very clear! Playfulness, fairness and goodwill are certainly mandatory.

Nasty murder of a Uni student in Melbourne has me riled up today as i read up on it.
Went to the GP for the annual Diabetes Care plan. It is essentially a checkup plus a way to be able to choose 5 Govt subsidised visits to one or more HCPs like Diabetes Nurse, Podiatrist, dietitian etc over the next 12 months.
It is more for use in the private system as opposed to the hospital clinic system. It does help the finances though, I'll give the Govt that !!
So apart from higher than usual BSLs and rising weather temperatures, that i still feel like I have the keto-flu, which has prompted some blood tests to look for other explanations, and the fact that it is full moon, absolutely nothing to report!!
When the mobile phones go out ...........When one is prickly. like me now, there is nowhere to hide !!

@helensaramay My neighbour went through a spell of flicking his fag ends on our drive last year, whenever I found one i'd throw it back onto his path, as he's the only smoker down our road it was pretty obvious who was doing it, haven't had any for a while so hoping the message got through, the weird thing is we get on fine, he's just a bit of drinker so was probably doing it drunk and without any intent. Unfortunately if it is an elderly neighbour then he's probably too set in his ways to change, so something you may need to tolerate unless your willing to talk it through with him, maybe offer an olive branch and ask if he ever needs anything to let you know, like a lift somewhere, collect his shopping etc, it may drop his guard and attitude.

@becca59 Did you manage to see the moon this morning, I completely forgot and slept through then woke to a woman on R4 saying she'd seen it, well jel !!

So went to see the physio this morning, we chatted and went through my symptoms - the sciatica has long since gone but has left me with an 'uncomfortable at times' hip joint and I've always had what I call a stiff back but the doc put it down as lower back pain - pain it isn't unless I've just grown use to it! But we get to the diabetes bit - 'So you're Type 1...............so you were diagnosed when you were small then', 'ummmm no I was 27', 'really? that's very unusual, T1 is a juveniles condition'........now I might perhaps be more accepting of this sort of thinking from an older person but he wasn't that old (I've probably got at least 20 years on him). I did inform him that T1 can strike anyone at any age in fact, whether he believed me or not is another matter. Anyway I left with an exercise sheet in hand and the fact my hamstring and muscles are short (and I'm not!). :oldman:

edit to add: BGs have been good, although after yesterdays Chicken Sunday roast my numbers stayed a bit high, high enough for me to want to do some corrections (note the plural!), didn't come down until a 2am correction last night got me back on track this morning.
