Good morning, awoke on 8.6 this morning.
I am accompanying someone to a hospital appointment this morning, so need to get a move on.
After yesterday's weather lashing, it is sunny and bright here, still breezy, but not too stormy.
Happy Wednesday all :):)

Morning all, a day of highs yesterday, friend came, not enough exercise, too much food.....am now waiting for the phone to be answered for a podiatry appointment. When I rang half an hour ago I was number 20 in the queue; I'm currently sitting at number 7. I need to hang on as my last appointment was in December; should be every 5 - 6 weeks. I got another appointment for 7 weeks; a letter postponed that for 4 weeks; just had another letter to postpone that for 3 weeks. I need to see them as I had 2 surgeries (and still nobody knows what was actually wrong with my foot!) which have left scar tissue which builds up really fast. I deal with it as best I can but it's hard to see and dangerous if I remove too much; if it's not dealt with it hurts and interferes with walking. I need to get an earlier appointment if I can so I may be sitting here for some time....

Just a quickie as I’m at the Ambo station waiting for a call. I literally had a round of applause from my consultant. He said I have perfect glycemic control :D He’s happy to approve my application for my big vehicle driving licence too. And they’ve asked if I’d be willing to go in occasionally to demonstrate how to get the best out of the tech I use. So chuffed.

Same here! The receptionist at the diabetic clinic even says "Good morning Paul" now. Makes me laugh :)

A greeting by name! at mine you're lucky to get a greeting...........

BGs have been well within range, no real highs and more importantly no lows for a week at least. (scans back through my recent posts........well theres nothing logged on my meter for 9 days!)

Woohoo well done Mel :). Honestly, I don't think anyone here expected anything else. The amount of time and effort you put into your type 1 management, you totally deserve a HUGE amount of applause

Just back from clinic. A new consultant, again. This one was happy with results, and so am I, and he’s authorising libre on prescription. I’m not holding my breath after the last communications debacle in this region but nevertheless, whoopidoo!!!!!
Go Mel, fantastic outcomes!

Well the clinic was a waste of my time. handed over my appointment to reception to be advised that my consultant was not running a clinic today. They had cancelled my appointment and had forgotten to tell me :banghead::banghead::banghead:

On Monday I called the clinic’s answering machine (they never answer the phone) to ask why it is 18 months since my last appointment. Apparently a new IT system meant I had dropped off their list.
They then asked if my GP did not see me - I said I have never seen GP for diabetes care, just prescriptions which we fight about and nurse for foot check.
Finally got DSN appt with a new nurse in May.
And some of you are greeted by name!

That’s appalling! Find a GP who’ll request an urgent clinic appointment for you - look up and quote the NICE guidelines for T1 diabetes care.

WOW that is terrible. My sharp tongue would be running overtime! I would be waiting outside the diabetic clinic demanding an urgent appointment!

Ours only ever says anything if you seem to be having serious trouble with the self-service sign in. And looks terrified if you speak directly to her... Mind you, the dietician makes up for it as she wanders around when she's not doing anything else helping people with meter downloads and remembered my name when I proudly announced I'd managed it all by myself that time. (Then the registrar couldn't access it anyway) I think I made an impact....
