Indeed, my bf puts a slice on cheese on top of the cooked patty in the pan. He was sad because I said no to buying burger buns and he didn't realised he is the only person that eats the bun. (I don't think it's worth 240kcal for a bun) :hilarious:

These are absolutely delish, with as much or little spice kick as you prefer: https://www.bbc.com/food/recipes/splendidly_spicy_beef_28887

When doing them, I'll more often than not make more spice mix, then freeze it for another time, so a super quick batch later.

(We don't usually bother with the wedges, or the buns for that matter. Even when I was eating bread, butger buns seemed to have the texture of marshmallows.)

Thinking of hilarious poses - husband passed the bathroom door yesterday afternoon and I was stood on one leg with my foot in a sinkful of hot soapy water. My excuse - it wasn't shower-time but my foot was manky (I'm a barefoot woman in the house) because I trod in the dog's dinner bowl......

Thank heavens he didn't have a camera handy!

I get a naked beanburger with salad (no dressing - "outside" mayo is always eggy) and share a small portion of chips with husband. That said, we seldom eat in fast food places; as a rule they look at me like I'm the village idiot

Easier & far tastier to take our own supplies in a cool bag, and find a park somewhere for a picnic (assuming the weather is half decent)

I have one skirt left to iron. Sadly it's the one I want to wear to work tomorrow so I'm going to have to do it. Bleep!

After that - I am leaving dinner to himself but will get myself a lunch of hummus & raw veggies with some salady stuff. Carrot muffin to follow.

It's a beautiful day outside, :)

Does anyone think it's better to store textbooks on a shelf with a book stand or in magazine holders or lay it on it's back? My book and textbook collection is growing and I don't think we are going to ikea any time soon. :hilarious:
@MeiChanski I don't think it matters. I've got so many books standing upright on shelves with others then lying on top of them. Ikea deliver too:bookworm:

@MeiChanski i am completely with you on the burger bun.
I don’t eat them often and they are usually veggie versions (although I had an amazing prawn burger in Tynemouth once) which have a fair amount of carbs in. So the idea of carbs inside carbs with carb (chips) on the side is completely unnecessary.
I usually request a naked burger if I am out.
What sort of response do you get about the naked burger @helensaramay?

@Mel dCP Highgate Cemetery? Oh wow would love to there and photograph round it, in fact this year I might redo my photo book I did for a college course called "I'll Meet You At The Cemetery Gates" all about the various symbols and meanings :)

A 9.6? :wideyed: I can't remember the last time you posted a number that high but looks like your OK which is the main thing x :)

@helensaramay thanks for that will have to give it ago :)
I love cemeteries. And photography :)

Obviously @helensaramay will answer for herself, but naked burgers are very common parlance these days for a bun-free burger. Depending on where it's eaten it'll be a salad, or if for finger food, it's often wrapped in lettuce.

I wish it was wrapped in a £20 or a £50 note ;) A bit like The Owl and the Pussycat verse, but obviously it has increased with inflation :D

I wouldn't object at all to that covering for my burger! Mind you, I'd be pretty happy with a £5 note too.

You do know we'd end up going back down to the takeaway and handing the money in, don't you

I love cemeteries.

My grandma loved cemeteries and wherever we went we had to walk round the local cemetery with her, and she'd peer at the headstones and comment about the ages of the occupiers of the graves, and the numbers of one family all buried together. Us girls got very bored with it, but we had to go anyway.

Thanks @DCUKMod, I know what a naked burger is, I just wondered what the response was.... other people too probably ask for the same. Reactions please

You're vegan @WuTwo so how do you get on with/feel about the materials making up a £5note?

Not great but in practice I'm one of those people who pays for just about everything by waving my card at the thingy on the counter. I have some small change but if I was spending enough for it to be a note then I'd wave my card. I find I can keep track more easily that way because I have my bank app on my phone, and between the card and app, I more or less keep on an even keel.

I'd much, much prefer them not to use animal fat in the note. I can't believe it's necessary in this day and age but we did all protest and got nowhere. Maybe PETA or the Vegan Society have another protest bubbling in the pot and if they do, I'll support it!

Thinking about it, I suppose I could use my phone, and just wave my phone at the thingy on the counter but I've always been a bit hesitant about that.

Anybody do that? And which is accepted in more places - wave a card or wave a phone?

Got rid of books/cds/records and numerous other bits of our life when we moved 4+ years ago. Husband 63 and me 60 this year. We don’t feel as though we need all this stuff anymore as everything is available at the push of a button now. It takes up a lot less space., and therefor less storage space and dusting. We were ruthless when moving, as we feel at our time of life we shouldn’t be accumulating stuff for our son to have to sort out. (Though I am intending a long life!)
In other news, a nice lowish line of 6/7s during swim fit, then up to 13 two hours later. Grr! Managed to get front and back grasses cut and edged before the rain closed in. Now enjoying that relaxed feeling after an all day breakfast, a G&T and large glass of red. It is a bank holiday after all.

To be honest, it's such a well coined phrase now, I've never had ant response, other than having my food delivered - even in Asia, which really surprised me.
