Fingers crossed for you Mel. I'm sure it'll be fine.

Our local DUK group meeting this mnth had a speaker from the Air Ambulance Service. All of their paramedics have to do a fitness test, due to the potential for having to lug a 20kg bag of kit some distance, when the helicoptor can't land close to the incident.

He was an excellent speaker.
I’ve had to lug that kitbag up a steep Welsh Valley street a few times, could have done with a defib at the top! We don’t have to do fitness tests though.

Good morning and happy July 1st and it's Canada day too, daughter just gone to work, but no work for me today..
Unfortunately a Monday moan about BG, slightly high, it rose during the night, but it's being sorted as I type.
Hope you all have a good Monday :)

Morning all, the cat is still in the vets, we did bring him home for a few hours yesterday in the hope that he would be more inclined to eat as he's still not eating, I was expecting him to be fairly quiet and we'd planned for him to just hole up in the spare bedroom but no, as soon as he was out the cat box he had jumped up on the kitchen side and then scouted out the usual escape routes, but still wasn't interested in food. So they're going to have to put a feeding tube in, hope that will stimulate his appetite.

It was a tad warm on saturday wasn't it? Got up early to take the dog for a walk before it got too hot - should have got up at the crack of dawn as by 8am it was already hot. I suspect I did pretty much the same as everyone else - not a lot except fire up the BBQ.

Morning all, had a smooth night and a nice lie in while husbeast took HideousSmallDiesel over the road for a new front tyre. Just having coffee and wondering if my liver is going to kick in as I’m not at work - although I am popping to Swansea for my uni medical. They want blood, quite literally! I’ll have a little wander around campus too. Big hugs to you and your lovely cat @slip xxx

Morning all from lovely Cheshire! Had a couple of lovely days exploring countryside, finding a hidden gem of a little garden and a larger gem of a huge garden and estate, off to the aquarium in Chester soon as rain's predicted here.

@slip fingers crossed for your lovely pussum

@Mel dCP good luck with the medical (suspect luck's not required)

@Knikki happy short week

@Simmo76 welcome!

Good morning all.
Even numbers this morning and thats with being full of strawberries :)

@helensaramay free solo is a must watch, I really enjoyed it. Never would I even think of doing that WITH a rope attached to me lol.....No Star Wars films...........where have you been ;)
@slip fingers crossed on the cat situation, jope he starts eating soon
@Knikki I missed most of Glasto as well :(
@Simmo76 a warm welcome to the forum and this amazing thread

White rabbits morning everyone and a welcome hug for @Simmo76

I've just got back from taking my 22 year old Skoda for a service and MOT. Wonder what the chances are of it not costing an arm and a leg?? Tiny
Need to weed the drive coz now the car's not there!!

Went out for the morning - first to the in-laws (in their 90's and getting extremely frail now, so we try to offer a lot more support as time goes by), and then on to a nearby market town. Didn't buy much - don't need it really, but it was nice to have a mooch and spend some time without the mutts.

Home now - dahl and rainbow slaw for lunch (yummy!). Chilling watching opening matches at Wimbledon with a pot of tea. Very relaxing.

Welcome to the thread - support, advice & comment offered or requested on just about anything including, occasionally, diabetes!

Better for a good night's sleep and a morning not spent packing boxes and moving stuff around! I'll start on our bedroom again at the weekend. That'll take a while.

Meantime himself has promised to have a clearout of the junk room that used to be his office. At the moment it amazes me that he even manages to get in there! I think he's liking how spacious the rest of the house is and pretty soon his desire for space will get the better of his inner packrat :joyful:

Does coffee with a dollop on ice cream on top sound... too... well, weird? like they shouldn't be together? :hilarious:

Nope - not given that you like iced coffee so much :)

Afternoon. Glad you made it @Simmo76 !

Day not going as planned, tbh. Occupational health medical was all good, and as long as the blood test shows I don’t have AIDS or hepatitis, that’s all signed off. Pretty sure that’ll be ok ;)

Toenail being pushed upward and off, so I rang my GP surgery to get advice from the DN, they said to ring Minor Injuries, they’re full, so long story short I’m sat in A&E with my crochet (I always have a portable project in the car for just such moments) for a few hours. Bored now. But we can’t take chances with our hooves, can we? Husbeast is at the hospital for a steroid injection in his broken wrist, so will be joining me armed with coffee and whatever low carb veggie food he can find as I haven’t eaten all day. Bloods fine but I’m a bit peckish.
