Stupid sensor reads 2.5 to 3.5 mmol lower than finger prick, so trying to learn not to test every time it reads below 3, as my hypo awareness is pretty good (although a little below 4 usually).
It's far out by enough for Abbott to replace it, but I already know they won't, as they only accept blood tests done with the reader. I don't have a reader, as readers cost 60 euro's. Last year they still accepted blood tests if you used a meter from their company, so I bought one to use with dodgy sensors. So there's that 25 euro's or so in the bin already.
Still debating calling them and starting a fight over it (consumers rights and stuff) or just letting it go and try to get used to numbers in red, as it won't be an easy fight to win.

In the mean time I have an interesting result on the app, being only 1% of the time in range while in real life there weren't any highs or lows. I estimate my average glucose of the last 24 hours as somewhere between 5.5 and 6.0 and the graph looks like this. So happy I don't have an appointment with my diabetes team in the next couple of weeks :)

Hi everyone.I had some good news yesterday, start a new school run on Monday, I'm still casual, so no permanent position, work,as there are 3 other escorts in front of me,
Also yesterday afternoon, I had a phone call from the hospital asking me if I wanted to have my back procedure done today as there was a cancellation, so I went in for 1pm, to D&T.
It was quite a painful procedure, but if it works, then that's what counts and they will call me in about 8 weeks time to find out it it helped. No bath or shower allowed tonight.
Lovely friendly staff and after my steroid injections (I had 10 injected into trigger points, upper right back) I was given a cup of tea afterwards and a packet of GF biscuits.
Discharged and I got a bus home.
So taking it easy this afternoon/

They’ve never had an issue with me not using the reader to do blood tests to compare... I use my Omnipod control unit as it has a built in one.

Is this a quirk of support from Abbott in your country? As @Mel dCP says, they have asked me what I've checked a sensor against when reporting one that's gone a bit haywire, but nothing more was said after telling them I checked it against blood readings from my Accu Check meter.

Or just the person you talked to, they used to vary drastically. There used to be a guy there I refused to talk to as he was so uncooperative. I would hang up so someone else would answer.

I never had a problem using another meter, I got the strips to test with the reader but it took too much blood so I just used my other meter instead.

Morning, BG very high last night and even after a 2.5 correction last night it went even more,so just corrected that.
Need to go to Boots and pick up my prescription as my sensor has 15 hours left and feeling rubbish this morning, but I'm sure I will feel better as the day goes on.
Back is covered in bruises, ranging from the injection point, which then goes into longer lines. So no sun dresses for a couple of days.
Happy Thursday guys :)

Hope the eye test goes well @karen8967.
Try Abbott again @Antje77? They’ve accepted bloods from accuchek from me too, and replaced twice on the evidence. It’s a fricking expensive thing to just throw a sensor away when it’s a duff one.
And good morning everyone, have a good day.
Off to puppy sit the little wolfdog later this morning. She’s just begun walking out on the lead now the vaccinations are active. I think she’s very excited by all the things she encounters too, @hh1, senses all in overdrive. It’s just so new to her. There’s so much to learn and discover, it’s a refreshing way to counteract being older and occasionally jaded.
Hugs for the after effects of steroids @Robinredbreast. Hate those steroid highs. But really good news about the Escort hours.

Juggling with the basal again as the weather cools. Think the daytime adjustment’s working for now, 5.1 on waking and got rid of the evening low that sent the night’s bloods up. So happy, for now.

Good morning everyone :cat:

Good luck with your eye test @karen8967
You've reminded me to book mine in, so thanks!

@Fairygodmother puppy sitting sounds amazing, I hope you have a lovely time. :)

I've started my day with a 14.5 :bag:
It's gone down to 12.4 in less than an hour, so hopefully by 9:30 I should be back in good range :nailbiting:

Morning friends, I feel my livelihood has been sucked out of me. I was fighting hypos yesterday for 4-5hours, so I had a late snooze. 5hours sleep feels like I didn’t sleep at all. 9.4 on waking doesn’t seem all too bad, :)
I told my mummy last night that diabetes isn’t going so well along with uni so I’m not going back just yet. I have appointments from September to November for just diabetes. So I reassured my mummy that my bf is indeed looking after me and on standby when hypos are happening.

No teaching today (secretly thrilled, but could have sone with the money), and hoping the D-emon behaves better than yesterday, where I was bouncing off the floor and eating dextrose like it was going out of fashion. I get one or two days every few weeks where it’s just a mystery - hormones are a huge factor, and despite overrides etc, it’s just a nightmare to deal with as my needs are fluctuating faster than Elvis can deal with them. Bit frustrated with it all tbh.

Morning everyone, including new posters and welcome to the crazy train - The Train on platform T1 is about to depart stopping at Cake station, Puppy Junction and Cat Central then terminating at Hypo City...........!

Been off line for a bit due to holidays, now caught up with all the goings on...........hope everyone gets what ever is troubling them sorted out.

Morning all. Set change done last night.....bloods were good up until 20 mins ago and now running in the high 11's pffft!!!!

@Antje77 definitely get in touch with Abbotts again......

Good morning everyone. It' rather chilly outside today. Contemplating wearing winter tights. My waking blood sugars have been higher since starting back at work. It's the late-night snacking. When I'm tired I should just go to bed. I feel like I have to eat to find the energy to go to bed. Also, the pup is missing me. I'm only leaving her 3 to 4 hours, but she's lifted my carpet and ripped up a section of underlay and taken the lining out of two dog beds. I spent a lot of time with here this morning, playing catch so hopefully, today she will be more settled. :) Have a great day everyone.
