@slip That would be sad to have to miss the trip but would be really nice if it goes away by then. There's a good chance my husband will cancel his trip to see his Mom in May. We're just waiting and seeing what transpires.

Well! On autopilot after my shower, I look down at the insulin pen in my hand and realise I am injecting rapid acting insulin instead of long acting.

So have taken twice what I normally take for breakfast and am now sitting at home checking my levels every 1/2 hr as I obviously cannot do the 90minute drive to work (can you sense my sadness :)) until I know I'm safe.

And after a very low carb meal last night I had the pleasure of waking up with a glucose level of 5.0 so not even the cushion of high morning glucose to rely on - what a numpty.:banghead:

LOL..............a vial for long lasting and a pen for fast acting means you never mix them up.................................
Of course good hypo treats can make the pain go away............until you've had too many of them.......

Exactly what I did a few years ago, 'Sorry can't come to work it's not safe for me to drive' - oh the disappointment.........:D spent all morning sugar surfing and had the best day ever blood wise but a lot of checking. All the best!

A Tesco store in a near by town had to call the police yesterday as people were fighting over toilet rolls :wideyed:

Toilet rolls were the first thing to fly off the shelves here too. They do keep getting them back in though.

It's a funny old world, I'm never ill but after dinner last night I started coughing and shivering, felt really cold and really ill and had put 3 layers of outdoor clothing on, an early night (with 2 paracetamol & I never take them) and a 3.30am xDrip alarm wake up with a blood of 19, 4u to sort it and back to sleep waking in range and feeling as fit as a fiddle.

I was a little worried having not stocked up with bog roll, rice and porridge and sacks of plaster but I'm alright now, I probably should declare myself as safe on Facebook too :p but I honestly don't know what that was all about...

Hello friends,

My bf and I will be food shopping today and we’ll check out the toilet rolls too
Diabetes has been okay, hormones are making it difficult though. Auto mode has quite got the message yet. But so far yesterday was absolute perfection - no lows and no highs. :)

urbanracer i done that a couple of weeks ago just as i was going to bed had to eat all kinds although i was full :arghh:

3 hours in and fairly stable. Strangely, I have found that injecting 12 units in my leg has kept my levels flatter than 6 units in my stomach. Although I've consumed more carbs to compensate I am still surprised by the outcome.

I'm a basal in the leg, bolus in the tum guy myself.

Except when wearing shorts. & oddly enough. In scenarios of eating out on holiday? This sort of magic can happen..

There needs to be a change in what is publicly acceptable regarding dropping trousers for insulin administration. ;)

@urbanracer I feel your pain, but am enjoying the comfort of knowing I'm not the only one to have done it!

@kev-w good to see you posting here again!

I'm beginning to doubt the efficacy of my Lantus - I'm now seeing a long slow rise in the morning. It's either that or something to do with sites. Hmmmm.
