Got my hba1c results that were taken on the 30th December. My last one in April was 43, was soon after I’d been on hybrid closed loop and was having a lot more lows. My lows have evened out now and in range for 75% of the time according to my Guardian. Current hba1c is 49 which I’m very happy with I was expecting around 52 (that’s what carelink predicted). As someone who had a hba1c of 78 about a year ago I’ll happily take 49 :)

Have been using Libre 3 for 4weeks now - got one as a gift for doing a trial and as one went out of date before I Phone had an app, ended up with a replacement. Used both including the out of date one which was fine. Feel sad I am returning to L2 tomorrow (have one on my arm ready). Have loved just seeing blood glucose move in real time- guys it fluctuates all the time. From 5.9-6.4 and back down again in 30 minutes. Also love the feature that lets you switch quickly between standard and custom TIR. I have my TIR set very tight, but if struggling it is nice to switch and see what my consultant has me aiming for. Also love the size. You really do not know it is on. The L2 I put on this morning seems enormous in comparison. My only gripe is you lose the 24 hour rolling %. Have got used to it and would swap over in a heartbeat. Goodness knows when that will be an option. How close Is it to blood glucose readings? Pretty bang on, have done about 5 blood glucose tests in the last 4 weeks. No hypos. Am in love with L3.

New pump arrived today, interestingly my new 780g looks slightly "chunkier" than my old one. Unsure whether this could be their way of possibly trying to prevent the Battery compartment cracks that they have a lot of. Left is new pump and right is old pump for comparison! Sigh, my pump just failed too. Went into blinking the home screen never to stop mode. My fault as it's one they already sent a replacement for because it was losing it's date (not programming) with every battery change. It was on it's way out.

I had programmed the new replacement one for using Novolog, had tried Novolog and still had a couple of pod failures. So I was being lazy and picked up my old one that I had been using with my Humalog. So now lol, I am trying the Novolog again and I had to change the settings by now in it anyways. We shall see what happens, because of so many pod/site failures I had switched to pump and MDI with my Humalog.

But gees, PDM/pump failure, my Libre was reading 80 points off, sometimes 50, sometimes 20. So I can't tell what it's doing. It still worked for what I was trending swimming on a shorter swim, but otherwise you can't trust it. I have more and they are replacing it. But I also restarted my Dexcom and it was being hugely inaccurate too for the first couple of days, all over, way too low, way too high. Lots of calibrating. I looked and I've had it on 32 days so it's past what they usually last for. But today it's seems to be reading great. I am on the Novolog and testing that again. So I seem to be all set. Knock on wood, because everything acting up at the same time was not fun and I must have went through 50 finger test strips. Between a PDM pump change, insulin change, 2 CGM's wonky, I even ended up with little dots all over my fingers yesterday I was testing so much!

I wouldn't do without the tech, but it certainly has it's own nuances!

Had my meeting with my HR lady about my hypo injection for emergencies, it went very well and she asked so many questions some I’d never even thought about, an action plan is being put together for all of our first aiders to follow including instructions on how to use the injection even though they are in the kit. All seems very positive and I’m glad my work place is extremely accommodating to my needs even though they have to be I’ve heard some stories of work places that wouldn’t allow their first aiders to administer the injection!

Hi all. Still here browsing everyday. Keeping fit and well and getting very excited for the arrival of second grandchild in the next couple of weeks. The first one has given us and is still giving us (Pops and Nana) oodles of pleasure. As we only have the one son, having unfortunately lost 4 ourselves, we feel blessed to be getting two grandchildren.
