@anje77 I panic without mine. At the moment I think I've got a broken sensor. Error message to rescan, same error message and a noise I've never heardI had an interesting day today. I left home at 7:45 am for a workday, only returning at 7:30 pm.
Upon arriving at the bridge where I work I found out I had forgotten my phone, so no access to CGM for the day.
I'm utterly spoilt, having used Libre almost from the start of my diabetes unlike many of you, so this vey much felt like flying blind even though I did have my meter.
The problem with that is that I only get a limited amount of teststrips funded, so I wanted to use as little as possible. I managed to fight the urge to randomly test all the time just because I'm so used to knowing what my bg is doing all day, and only used 2 teststrips in the end.
Now I'm wondering how other T1's deal with suddenly losing access to their CGM. For me it was mildly stressful, and I did a lot of thinking, trying to reason with myself on what range my number would likely be in and if I needed to check with a fingerprick already or not.
I also laughed at myself a lot for overthinking, and because I like to laugh at me when I do something mildly stupid like forgetting my phone.
So how do you act when you suddenly find yourself without a CGM?
(I'm on MDI by the way.)
More details and how it worked out on this thread. It's a food thread so my post is rather heavy on the food part of my day, and with that thread mostly visited by T2's the insulin decisions aren't very relevant: https://www.diabetes.co.uk/forum/threads/what-have-you-eaten-parallel-chat.177870/post-2783044
I don't have a pencil showing, perhaps I should uninstall and reinstallPress the pencil in the square at the top of the page. It will come up with two options. Press new topic.
How are you now?Can someone please tell me how to reduce a hyper? Yesterday all I ate was a boiled egg and a small slice of toast. It went as high as 24 something at 3pm this morning and it's only come down to 15.
I'm not ill and have been drinking jugs of water

My husband (and customers when I had the store too) had relief from using a product called Nature's Lining from LaneInnovative. It's a chewable tablet. My husband was waking up in the middle of the night choking from reflux and now he doesn't have any issues although he still can't eat things like spaghetti with tomato sauce right before bedtime. It's not cheap though and he used it for 3 months. You can buy the ingredient combo in it cheaper as a pill, but the chewable tablet hits the esophagus better.I unintentionally do a 19/5 fast now (thanks reflux) I’ve been doing it for maybe the last couple of weeks or so and I’ve learnt 2 things. One is that really I didn’t need to snack as much as I did and two is that my TDD of insulin has lowered by around 10 units. It’s definitely helping me to shift the pounds and with any luck I’ll be down enough to get the reflux surgery I desperately need
I’m jealous, my sensor decided to die last night and it was far too late to change it so I spent half the night not in rangeGood morning
Sorry to be dull but i'm having one of those "oh what a lovely graph " mornings
5s all night flat lined and sat on 6.1 as i type.
I really do feel pleased when things go well and want to share but then get concerned people think i'm being smug which i'm not.....
I wish you all well
Tony
