Type 2 Life

5.6 am
woke up and then went back to sleep..... slept in a bit, which is okay on a Sunday.

Joan Armatrading!! OMG that takes me back. Hope you feel well enough to enjoy this evening.

Had to listen "The weakness in Me" .... makes me think about my carb weakness now. LoL.

G-C
Joan Armatrading came out in sympathy with me, while I made the effort to go feeling under par she had developed an acute sore throat and cried off :grumpy: stiil a good night with The Shires & Ray Davies.

6.2 reading this morning, yawning from a late night and very proud that I took my own food staying away from the chip & burger
huts, unlike the boys.

The price on the sticker for the bread is reflected in US dollars! So it's not dirt cheap like those delicious loaves of cakey white bread from the mainstream supermarket that could double as pillows. However this loaf is reasonably priced, especially compared to the more artisinal styles that are popular with the foodies that are too busy Instagramming their perfect plates of locally sourced molecularly gastronomized potato chips that are essentially six Pringles for sixty times the price.

As for the taste of the bread, it hit the spot, but in the same way a good movie edited for television lacks some of the better parts to tell the full story. I kept thinking, this low carbohydrate bread would be so much more delicious in between a couple slices of some high carbohydrate bread. I am still close enough to the inception of this dietary shift to feel the pangs of withdrawal, which may never go away. And the pure irony of low carbohydrate bread upon its first bite is the immediate craving to double the portion size as a means of getting the full effect.

Lmao. Perfect review @Type2Guy. My filling of choice for that bread would be roast beef with horseradish sauce, lettuce & sliced beef tomato. Either as a 2 slice sandwich, or an open 1 slice sandwich. As for the carb cravings. Well, I'm not sure that they ever go away completely. And that's from a purely subjective point of view. But I find alternatives or have a smaller portion of whatever it is i want to eat. That does take discipline though. Sometimes I fail. On those occasions, I put it down to experience & move forward. Pointless beating myself up. Just use it as a learning curve. I keep my dark chocolate in the freezer all of the time. Frozen in 2/3 square pieces which I grab when I need a sweetooth fix. It feels nice slowly melting on the tongue & hits the spot. It also allows my body's hunger pangs to catch up to my brain, letting me know I'm not hungry anymore. I freeze a lot of foods for that same reason...grapes, banana chunks, chocolate Brazil nuts, melon balls, Irish diet yoghurt. Stuff like that. Eat em all frozen. The yoghurt is surprisingly good frozen, & I feel as though I'm indulging my need for icecream.

Good luck with finding your low carb alternatives. What's next on your agenda I wonder. :) X

Hello folks. Hope you're all having a good Sunday. 4.9 for me this morning. Getting over my cold & sore throat. Yay! Off to the NUFC home game this afternoon. I'm taking my own low carb, low sugar snacks too. I tend to nibble my way through a game. Hope you all have a great day. Good health & best wishes. X

That's nothing. @WeeFergus saw the Beatles in Liverpool. Now that's cool.
I prefer to remember the Stones at Roundhay park, supported by George Thorogood and the destroyers, Joe Jackson and the J Geils Band.

Perhaps cos I was 21......

Later on I saw Springsteen there too.

One of the best live bands I ever saw a was the Steve Gibbons band in my student days.

But cool? Eric Clapton from a private box at the RAH.

Could have leaned over the the edge and fiddled with Andy Fairweather Lowes machine head, although I chose not to. ...

Got to ask though, any one else seen Walter Trout? Im fortunate enough to live within 9 miles of the Holmfirth Picturedrome where he used to conclude his world tours..

Or Wilko Johnson?. He scheduled his last ever, RIP gig there but I couldn't get tickets.

Both those guys are a real inspiration for anyone fighting a nasty disease; maybe not so much for Joan Armatrading fans, but if your taste is more Rae Davies. ..

Had an over carby dinner last night, the place didn't have any English translations and everything we ordered was probably too carb laden (but bloody delicious) and woke up to a 6.6 this morning. Then had breakfast and couldn't resist a pastry thing full of Apple. Tested 2 hours later whilst walking around the streets of Córdoba and I was only 7.2 no I'm not dead yet

Back to cooler climes on Tuesday, so from then all carbs will be gone again
