Type 2 Life

Morning troops

5.5 fasting. So a rise in bloods since the end of the FF. Not to drastic but did like the 4.8 on Friday morning. Would like to cap it there. Weight actually down by 2lbs over the weekend so on that dangerous 15 stone bump point. Break that on hold is the aim there.

Have a great day all.

Hola @hankjam

Did you go for the fitbit HR in the end then?
I did!
and still getting used to it... it is work in progress and there are a number of features that are doing my head in...
It is going to be interesting to see how the HR performs.
The step counter is bonkers...
which translates into really bonkers calorie consumption...
and who thought counting the number of stairs you use in day was a useful parameter...
and the HR file export format is completely new to me.... so looking for a file converter...
:)

F-BS 5.3 yeah!

Really pleased this morning. Hopefully I will not celebrate by eating too much carb rich foods cause my f-bs was in the low 5's don't cha know....

This thread is so very very unfair fbg 10 and I went to see Adam Faith at Blackpool with .my mum

5.9 and, I was really naughty last night having a Green & Blacks organic hot chocolate with full milk.....my levels stayed under the 7 threshold, woohoo. Bet it will be a different story if I had a nice slice of toast!! I live a life without grain now, I must stop wicked thoughts of toast with melted butter :D

What is this fitbit of which you speak?

Will it help me keep my BS down or cause stress trying to understand it?
Maybe a bit of both.

Fitbit is an activity tracker with a continuous heart rate dsiplay. There are many others depending on what you want to use it for or even free apps for walking/running etc so you can see what activities effect your BS. So for example weights/dancing/sprinting/tennis/washing the car might be quite vigorous - and spike your BS up for a short period of time before spiking down and keeping low over an extended period to time. Whilst a more gentle activity gardening/walking/jogging etc etc will in all likely hood reduce your BS over a long slow period of time. It all depends on a whole heap of factors but by knowing your max heart rate and the various HR zones you can vary the ratios of fuel that your body is burning for energy. Or to cut a long story short - yes it will help you keep your BS down.

hankjam started a thread in the fitness sports section about what he wanted to use his for if you want to delve in deeper.

Happy Monday folks. A horrific 3.7 FBG this morning. I am useless when I drop this low. Can't think straight, brain fog, clumsy, coordination goes out the window, lethargic, shallow breathing, sleepy. The list goes on. Posters who regularly have FBG's in the 3's & who function well at that level have my admiration. But it's not for me. The only upside was the Bounty bar I had to bring my numbers up. OMG....orgasmic! I lead an unexciting life to get so worked up over confectionary. Meh! :meh::) Have a great day everyone. X

@Alisonjane10 how you getting on with your meds? Are they why you go so low sometimes or is there another cause... or do they just do?

In London for a few days. Ate at a nice place in Covent Garden called Chez Antoinette - down the stairs in the pits. Nice lady swapped the bread for salad when I ordered the charcuterie and the house red isn't bad. 5.2 before lunch and 5.3 2 hours later.
Back in hotel now after walking 12 miles!!

Sounds like a good swap. Good evening stretch of the legs, when the bike is away?

Hi @hankjam. I've no idea why my BG dropped so low. It was 5.4 at bedtime, so the low fbg was a surprise. I have started taking Chromium Picolinate 200mcg twice a day as research suggests this supplement helps stabilise blood glucose. Perhaps my insulin resistance is decreasing the more weight I lose. Maybe I need to see my DSN again. She worries about hypo's, however infrequent. I'll give the surgery a call tomorrow. It was kind of you to ask. Thank you. AJ. X

Mmmm mm

Bounty. ..

Those were the days. ........

Plain chocolate one with the red writing was by far the best :arghh:

M m m m m!! :hungry::hungry::hungry: Yup, I agree. I loved Star Bars too...they had peanut butter in them. I've just had a blast from the past too, & have bought some Tootie Frooties for my hypo box. All this chocolate & sweety talk is making me crave some. Gonna have an apple instead.

Does anyone remember cabana bars? They were like a bounty bar but with bits of tropical fruit in. The 80's throw back... i might have got the name wrong, but not the memory. Mmmmm. Obviously I was little then, ahem.
