Thank for that will try cheese and crackers tonight see what that does to my morning reading tomorrow will let you know. Hope others are reading these posts as it may be of benefit for others too.@amgrundy - Brilliant = And here is the proof that it works. And if that works for continue with it. Pre-bedtime snacks should always contain Protein such as: Cheese, or Meats, or handful of Nuts, or spoonful of Peanut Butter. NOT CARBS - milk, fruit, or juice.
Thanks Liam! I'm not usually a moaner or sorry for myself person, as you know I've been dissabled since 4, been on the battle front in Iran, coped with that so I can cope with anythink, thanks for the chat booked me up a bit, I'm actually going out at 2.15 (after neighbours ha ha) gonna go buy birthday card/pressie for my daughter, got to get back on top and practice what I preach, always someone worse off, this forum certainly helps people, especially as everyone has their own problems also, but still you all are there to help. Thanks so much (hug)@maureen5752 - You will get your confidence back, just take your time in what you do. And as for the 'moaning' get it out - it has been said a few times on here that this thread is not all about how good our blood sugars are, or how great our diets is going - it's about life with Type 2 Diabetes. If you feel you need to have a rant and rave or moan or disagree that's fine.

Hi and thank you so pleased. I test first thing in the morning before and 2 hours after evening meal. Only been testing a week. No cannot remember my last HBA1C but to be honest I'm not expecting this one to be great. It has only been this last week that I have taken control, taken medication properly and started making big changes. And had so much help and advice from everyone on here xx@kjc2011 - Well Done - There you go what a brilliant result. Bet you are so pleased with yourself in knowing that you have made a difference with your blood sugars after all. And you are getting strips and Lancets on prescription. How often do you test?
On Friday we look forward to hearing what your HBA1C is.Can you remember what your last HBA1C was?
@david1968 definitely a success.
You might find a rogue high bg from time to time. Which I just call a carb build up after a treat. Lchf or contant lower carbs iron those out over time.
a great example of enjoying your life with type2 diabetes. Well done. I hope you don't mind if I can refer to your experience from time to time for newies?
I'm also such a chocoholic really bad I could easily eat a couple of bars in an afternoon and not bat an eyelid enjoy your lunch and thank you for all your advice and general chat speak soon x@kjc2011 - I think you might be surprised at your HBA1C results. Mine was 64 last November and I was surprised in February that it was 59, and to think that over the Festive Season I ate loads of......Chocolate!! The one thing I REFUSE to give up, but I do try to eat it in moderation - notice I say TRY - but, I am weak when it's 'White' chocolate.
I have to go and have lunch now enjoyed our chattingWhere are you @13lizanne - your presence is 'missed'!!
@amgrundy
I am not saying that you HAVE to eat crackers and cheese. But, Protein is BETTER than Carbs. And if you find that your Greek/Turkish yoghurt works for you, I would continue with that.
Hi @kjc2011 do you like chocolate sauce? Or is it the melting in the mouth u like? Sauce which I like 90% chocolate melted and double cream added. It's lovely. Put on most things. Chilli can be added, ginger or any essence really.I'm also such a chocoholic really bad I could easily eat a couple of bars in an afternoon and not bat an eyelid enjoy your lunch and thank you for all your advice and general chat speak soon x
I would eat any kind of chocolate any chocolate bar, drink sauce etc..... I have also been told if I crave chocolate have a bit of chocolate milkshake. But that sounds lovely what do you have it on/with will have to try it xHi @kjc2011 do you like chocolate sauce? Or is it the melting in the mouth u like? @Dave from Weeton I'm not sure if you have already received a comprehensive reply yet but i can only give you my findings.Good Morning, I have seen some concerns regarding high waking blood sugar readings and whether some post 'bad' results so I have posted my figures since I started testing. While mine range between 5.5 and 7.7 there is no pattern apart from less infrequent +7s in the last month.
Here is the thread I have posted to - Dawn Phenomenon - good or bad?
PS) I am not obsessive just meticulous
What do you eat which is nibbleable? Me I have nuts, almond flour made pancakes and an occasional treat which with chocolate sauce isn't as damaging as custard or angel delight.kjc2011 said:I would eat any kind of chocolate any chocolate bar, drink sauce etc.....
