Type 2 Life

I've had a day of really high bloods (for me), I've had two separate readings of 9.2! My bloods have been really unstable for two days now, swinging from my usual high 4s/low 5s through 7s and 8s until today when I got 9.2 after lunch and again after dinner. I've not changed my foods or exercise although I did have two potatoes tonight. I don't feel ill, what can be wrong?
PS I have been really stressed for several weeks now with serious illness in the family

Hello Anna @13lizanne sorry to read about the illness in your family. I hope the prognosis has some hope. With everything else you have I would imagine your stresses are really high. I wish you and your family well.

Evening all, almost bedtime for me, sorry I haven't been about to participate in the chat.

@13lizanne There is an app that does nice plinky-plonky type relaxation music that is helpful for de-stressing.

Hope everyone sleeps well tonight.... See you tomorrow.

Have just spent 30 minutes on the phone talking to a lovely guy in Mombai, India. My broadband went down for 5 hours this afternoon and it is on and off all evening. R changed us from Sky to BT to save £10 a month, - so his name is dirt!!! It's going to take 48 hours to monitor our line and then they will get back to us on Tuesday, so I might not be on the Forum much.:)

Missing you already...

BT = :banghead:

BT are wonderful. My broadband went down a couple of weeks ago. Apparently the person I spoke to could tell that it was an issue with my line that required an engineer visit. A couple of hours later the broadband was working perfectly again. I rang back to tell them and cancel the engineer. They cancelled the engineer, and on my latest bill they tried to charge me for an engineer visit.

Brilliant customer service.

Oh no poor you, I don't think I could be without my internet, I rely on it far too much recently. Don't know what I did growing up with no WiFi or computers they were a luxury when I was growing up in the 80s and 90s. Fingers crossed it is all sorted out for you quickly.

been a busy thread today, with lots of new faces, which is great.
Monday a workday, so off to the land of nod and maybe watch/listen to some golf.
Take care
Hj

Thank you, but it's not that kind of stress!

Well, I had good (for me) readings all weekend with a 5.7 after dinner last night (5.9 before). I got a great nights sleep and woke up to.... 8.9. Grrrr. Maybe it's just my livers way of preparing me for the working week

6.7 this morning so happy with that as I have crept under the magical 7.0 .

Interesting day yesterday as it was my rest day (the one day of the week I do not do the Gym, swim, or an Aqua Class) And I was interested to see what effect this had on my BG levels.

Started the day at a 7.0, then went de-mudded and de-matted my horse for an hour on returning it had gone to 6.3, the lowest it got all day was 5.4 And mostly bobbled along at 5.8 two hours after meals.

My Daily average was 6.1

So overall my rest day meant that I did not get into the really low 5's yesterday and my Daily average was up by 0.2. So not as terrible as I thought it was going to be :-)

Had a day off with a dam gum infection but other than that all good on a Monday night in Canberra and this week I am trying to put a little more Fat into my LCHF

Hi @muzza3, gum infections are the worst, I swear the last one I had pushed my BS through the roof with the amount of Ibuprofen I was taking And also my decision that the best thing I could eat was Haagen Daz Vanilla ice cream for 4 days :-)

I also wanted to push my fat up a bit, I have started having a lunch of something like a Mozzarella Tomato And basil salad with a nice big glug of extra virgin olive oil. It still tastes fresh And light but the olive oil pushes up my fat ratio's nicely.

Morning all. I was back in the 8's this morning - not unusual - I think its because its so hard for me to wake up in the morning that my liver gives me a double dose to get my up and out of the bed - I would give anything to be in bed sleeping.

Just reviewing things from over the weekend and I think it was pretty much a success. I wasn't monitoring blood sugar levels as closely as I have been and I had a few drinks for the first time in quite a well plus the edibles weren't as healthy as they could have been (steak and chips on the Friday night ... sausage, bacon, mushrooms and beans plus toast and marmalade for breakfast on Saturday ... sausage sandwich at the football on Saturday afternoon ... and chicken malaya and a naan bread on Saturday evening ... and then toast and marmalade again on Sunday morning).

Had a reading in the 10s on Saturday but that was because I forgot to inject after the sausage sandwich otherwise the highest was 8.0 before breakfast on Sunday.

Weight on Friday morning was 17 stone 11 and I was expecting that I might have nudged that back up but I was pleasantly surprised to see the scales reading 17 stone 10 this morning.

Now, I'm not going to be having weekends like this very often - in fact that next time will probably be when the same group of friends get together around this time next year - but it does seem that the work I've been putting in on losing weight and controlling my levels is heading in the right direction.

Got a day's leave from work today but am now clambering back on the wagon. Pre-breakfast reading was 7.6 and two hours after I'm slightly high at 8.6 but just about to head out for a walk.

Hope everybody has as good a day as they possibly can.

Morning folks, it's a busy day today - DS goes back to college and I have to sign on. Oh the delights of the DSS! At least my BG is on track, I was 6.9 this morning. Hope everyone has a good one

Thanks Lindy
I like the suggestion of the Ice Cream but will probably pass on that. I think I have been a bit calorie conscious rather than Carb/Fat conscious in my LCHF so I am dropping the carbs right back and adding cream instead of milk in coffees and yes olive oil with veges etc
