Type 2 Life

Hi,

I've been in a lot of pain today with my right hand side of my torso over my kidneys. It could be my low sodium that's even lower than before. I'm getting the results of the renal profile blood test I had last Thursday on Monday 1st November with the Doctor. The pain tends to be in my kidney region, a stabbing pain when I get out of bed or get out of my chair and it's when my back bends. It's affecting my lower back as well. I've been taking ibuprofen and paracetomol and Phorpain maximum strength ibuprofen gel to counteract the pain. Ive also got a diagnosis of musculoskeletal disorder and my GP is referring me to Occupational Therapy to assist me with implements to assist with my bathing/washing. The low sodium over my kidneys is playing on my mind though, caused by psychogenic polydipsia, a psychiatric disorder prevalent in the developmentally disabled where I drink too much water oweing to a dry mouth and fear of dehydration. My diabetes type 2 could play a part in that equation too while I'm hyperglycaemic. Had a good blood sugar today though - 5.4 mmol.

Sorry to read so many on here are not well

My wish for the coming week is for everyone to feel better this time next week (much better I hope)

Along with all his other problems we can now add memory loss to the list. X

Ron's been having trouble with short-term memory. We had a set to yesterday he walked out came back over an hour later he went up stairs to bed . Didn't come down till late afternoon. Now today he can't remember any of it .

How is his blood pressure with house sale etc.? I'm not making excuses for him but is he having angry outbursts, more as the day progresses?
Have you got a self monitoring blood pressure machine? Or near a chemist to have it checked tomorrow? Lloyds used to do it. It could be high blood pressure and a side affect of one of his tablets. Check with his chemist. If you're worried get him check out at gps?

Blood pressure is fine . I have a meter to check as I have high bp. No angry out bursts. A lot of his meds have memory loss as a side effect. He has an appointment a week tomorrow with gp. I wasn't to worried about it but after yesterday I am now . I hope it's not a new problem we are going to have to deal with as I'm reaching breaking point . Also tonight he couldn't have a bath as he was in to much pain . He was getting ready to get in then his back just gave out a big cracking noise . Hence a strip wash . Then he couldn't move his leg or stand when needed. So my poor back has gone through it again. It only hurts on my right side. Just don't make me laugh. How's your back,?

Oh @tina_marie I'm sorry you are both going through this. Please look after yourself, especially your back. I do wonder if lifting toddler, buggy and shopping, in and out of car or buses has wrecked my back. I jumped off a very very low wall just weeks after having toddler and it took my breath away with the pain of no suspension anymore and adding 1stone with insulin injections which hasn't helped. GP believes my pain is coming from my pelvic joint as when I bring my knee up to my body it takes the pressure away so gave me naproxen which doesn't feel like it doing anything to help. Older GP gave me ibuprofen rub to compliment for pain relief. Co-codamol helps the most but only with naproxen. A chemical mixture of drugs, I know. I'm worried sick about my liver processing it all. Oh on top I'm still having palpatations from lchf diet when I went 30g carb.
I wish I could say I'm getting relief but I feel most days the pain is getting worse. On top of that I have brief moments where I think I've got spine cancer or ovarian cancer and GP is totally of the mark. Ha ha
You know @tina_marie things won't always be like this. I know a terrible time for you both but there will be great times again. That's for sure.

I'm so sorry to hear about your pain Johnny @autisticwonder1970 and hope that Occupational Therapy will be able to help you with that. I hope that your test results will be encouraging, take good care of yourself and keep warm. Wear warm clothing especially over your back, that might help. I hope that today will be a good day for you.

I'm OK thanks Vicky. Can't say the same about butters though.

Not got all night Vicky to go down the list but short time memory loss is getting worse lost a whole day last week completely gone
I'm thinking about you. When is your next appointment? Take one day at a time. Hoping you have a restful sleep and some relief soon. I guess you have no choice but to ride this til you see specialist next. Now we know one of side affects of one of your meds.

Good Afternoon, my friends on the www.diabetes.co.uk type 2 life forum,

Last night I had a Doner Kebab and slept well, awaking this morning to take all my prescribed medications. Headed out to the bowel and bladder clinic near where I live to see about my incontinence briefs for my overactive bladder syndrome. They're satisfied I'm doing quite well with it but that I still have leakage and urge incontinence as well as nocturnal enuresis. Nurse is going to chase up supplier and the briefs with a pad in them will be delivered to me. She measured my waste - I'm a size 42 inch waist and weigh 46 kg and am 5 feet 6 inches tall which gives me an obese bmi of 30.2. She also gave me a list of foods/beverages to avoid with overactive bladder syndrome; citrus drink, citrus fruits, caffeinated drinks, hot chocolate, fizzy drinks, tomatoes and spicy foods. I'm going to try the l.c.h.f diet for my diabetes again too although I had a couple of bits of bread and jam and a bowl of oatie cheerios and milk to eat on arrival at home. My blood sugar now is 14.3 mmol which is the limit. must go on the l.c.h.f. programme.

love johnny baker, sufferer of asperger syndrome.

sorry i'm 42 inch waist, weigh 86 kg (13 st 8 lbs), am 5'6" tall which gives me an obese body mass index of 30.2.

Yes very well @ ickihun, how are you? I have not been posting my bs results as every time i tested they were in the high 4's to low5's even after meals, so with a mix of knowing what and what not to eat....plus portion control...feeling well and in control ⚖️

I managed to reduce my insulin a few weeks ago to nothing but within 7days bgs were over 7.8mmol/l constantly so I panicked and started insulin again. I will be attempting it again on a strict lchf and fasting in the new year. Having problem walking due to arthritis, which I feel I've developed doing a poor lchf attempt. Also I've been left with palpatations, which are quite frightening. I won't let this deter me thou.
