Thanks for kind words @ickihun about my FBG. I'm well overdue my HBA1c, have been putting off to recover from the Christmas effect so the results aren't rubbish due to Christmas binge. Not sure if this is a good thing? I'll probably get it done in around 3 weeks.

Generally feel better, finally got rid of the cold and now off swimming. I feel so much better when my bloods are under control :):):)

Have a great Sunday ;)
I'm so proud of you! :) :) :)

well I can understand that you are eager to get back to a more active life.... but still if you can long walks I believe is good for people with a possible heart condition... of cause always with ones phone in ones hands/pocket... hope you´ll be sorted soon and really helped..... I am the impatient type too, but you also have your children to wan´t you to do a lot with them... my daugther is 16 years and actually I am glad I don´t have to do a lot with her all the time any more, but those wonderful days with ones kids do not come back so it is really good you wan´t it so much to do a lot of fun with them...

well you are much worse than I thought, hope you´ll get some help for all your body at the same time, tell them it is highly needed... you need help for getting able to move more soon...

Penfold, I can never quite grasp the concept of delaying to be rid of the effects of x,y, or z. Surely it's more informative and educational to know exactly the impact of a period of overeating, stress, over drinking, not exercising or whatever (not suggesting you did any or all of those things). The A1c is just what it is.

If you were to find your A1c rose a lot, then it sends you a message you can properly interpret about how you handle future events (within your control - clearly illness or injury aren't). If it doesn't go up much, then you know you have some leeway in how you live.

I asked for an A1c pre-surgery, after several stressful months of tests, leading to a diagnosis. Because I'm not on the diabetic register, I wasn't due to have one, but as I was having a general panel done, I asked if it was included and the nurse offered the option. It had risen from 31 to 33. A couple of months post-surgery, and a tricky little complication, it was still 33, but once all that cleared, I've gone back to 31.

From that I learned that stress isn't my best friend, but nor was it catastrophic. It is what it is. Not knowing doesn't stop it being.

I'm not criticising what you're doing, just offering up a contrary viewpoint, with an upside.

I have been having 3 monthly bloods done at doctors for the last 6 months to monitor my new "no meds " regime and my elevated cholesterol. Last test was on the 31st Jan and get the results tomorrow at my diabetic review.
The only naughty I had over Christmas was about 5 Quality Street chocs so hopefully won't have done too much harm .
The nurse found microscopic blood in urine so sent off sample so await the results of what this is as well . Nurse did offer delaying this test to allow me to get over Christmas but I said no it will keep me on the straight and narrow i hope !

I was annoyed when my new surgery (old one closed) ask me to have blood tests beginning of January when I expected them to be in March. With hindsight I'm so pleased I did have them then as I now know all my pigging over Christmas only had a very small effect on my HbA1c so next year I won't have to worry,

Hi Kathleen - I'm answering you in this thread because the Mods keep telling us off for going off-topic in the FBS thread! But I would say that with the FBS numbers you're getting right now, you don't need any advice - you're obviously doing just great! :)
Hugs xx

@debrasue Did you get this on top of the pneumonia jab? Scary if so. I'm thinking 'oh I'll be ok ive had the pneumonia jab'. Obviously not.
I'm back to see gp on wednesday for echo result and breathing test request as girls were unsure which one I needed to be booked. Not convinced its asthma. If i get another batch of antibiotics I'll scream!
Breathing is bad in rest yesterday and today but has been good. No chest pain :) :) :)
Hi Vicky! No, I didn't have a flu jab or a pneumonia jab this year. I decided not to because after having a bad reaction to the flu jab last year, I got flu about a month later anyway, and I had never had pneumonia, so I didn't think about it.
I'm glad you're feeling better today.
Hugs x

Oh @debrasue and you've soldiered on. Bless you. Get your gp working for that money they get for you hun. Don't suffer in silience, again. :(
Well, my GP was telling me that the breathlessness and the cough was either due to my weight or my heart, (heart function checked in the ambulance and again twice in A&E and pronounced fine), so it never occurred to me that it might be anything more. And I hate going to see the doctor, because it takes forever to get an appointment and when you do get one you feel as if they're trying to get you out of the door as quickly as possible.
The trouble is that when something goes on for a long time, you forget what it feels like to be well, and feeling ****** becomes the norm!

@debrasue just read in FBG thread about your pneumonia- poor you, how are you today? Sending virtual hugs to you. Let us know how your are doing xxx
Thanks, Andrew. I'm feeling a bit better today; less pain and I think my temperature is getting back to normal, but I still feel pretty wrecked. The antibiotics must be working, though, so hopefully I'll bounce back again soon.
Thanks for the hugs and the sympathy xxx
:)

I'm struggling to walk too, due to pain in back and rear of pelvis on right side. Have a second physio appointment next week but only doing upper body stretches to keep supple. Nothing strenuous incase of chest pain. I wish I knew more about mobility other than small walks stopping very regularly and trying to build up. Everytime I try more my breathing in rest and chest pains come back. So just doing what is comfortable at mo with help of a lot of painkillers and a&e, scans and gp appointments. :(
This is a bit of a shot in the dark, but have they checked your spine? Depending on where it's located, a pinched nerve in the spine, a slipped disc (misaligned vertebra) can cause - among other things - back pain, sciatica, or chest pain resulting in breathlessness...

Hi folks, I have written before about how high the a.m. glyclazide (80mg and the metformin) led to as high as 12.0 blood glucose. I investigated the Dawn syndrome but I could not understand why it was so high, and how tired I was after noon. At supper it was lower.

Here is something strange that has happened, I spread the glyclazide over the day (a.m, afternoon, and supper) and the numbers are now 5-7. I always have less fatigue. I don't know why, possibly my needle is a bit weaker.

@Erin gliclazide stopped working for me too. Too much insulin resistance caused it. Gliclazide helps you produce MORE insulin and for an insulin resistant sufferer it can cause highs.
Speak to your dn for advice with your high bgs.
Liver dumps do happen throughout the day not just approaching dawn.
Low carb foods and less insulin being made will bring your bgs down. Don't reduce your meds without speaking to nurse or dr first thou.

Good afternoon, peeps!
I'm having a bit of a weird day today... I still feel breathless and very 'feak and weeble' with little appetite, but I have been craving fruit all day. I've tried to stick to the odd handful of berries and cherries, figuring that the extra Vit C will help me heal more quickly, but I've just weakened and had an apple too. Still craving more, though. :sorry:
Any ideas/suggestions? xx

I have Asperger Syndrome which is an autism spectrum condition and a full diagnosis of Adult ADHD which are characterised by impairments in social communication, social interaction and social imagination. I also have a rigid and somewhat unpredictable routine. I also experience obsessive rituals, some a bit overwhelming. But I have a talent in articulate creative writing skills and possess a photographic rote memory. I have sensory sensitivity and get upset by loud noises, bright colours or lights, and notice the texture and consistency of certain foods more making my dietary choices extremely limited or restricted to certain food components. I dislike conflict and lies. The Adult ADHD also makes me very moody and cross.
Good Evening, my good friends, from PC Number 5 at Tate South Lambeth Library on Monday 6th February, 2017, at 5:23 Post Meridian.

I had a good day yesterday, a friend of a friend was given a cheese and tomato pizza by a local take away outlet and she shared it with me. I also had a ready meal of shepherd's pie and a ready meal of sausage and mash. Also, another friend, at 10:30 Post Meridian reimbursed me the ten pounds I lent her in dribs and drabs last Thursday and another friend, my bestie, Lee, brought it round to me. I was very grateful and it's so good to have good friends both in my community and online. I did a good shop with the remaining five pound note after buying tobacco last night of 2 Sainsbury's Basics Scotch Eggs for 45 pence each, a Sainsbury's Crusty Bloomer Loaf of Bread with Poppy Seeds for £1.00 and 6 Classic Round Tomatoes by Sainsbury's for 70 pence. I also bought a packet of 6 Sainsbury's crusty bread rolls for 65 pence. I've been eating tomato rolls and 2 tomato sandwiches and felt tired, fatigued and exhausted due to my blood glucose level spiking. But I feel a lot better now, though, after a nice sleep on my sofa in my sitting room of my one bedroomed council flat. After waking up after the sleep my blood glucose reading was 8.6 Millimoles Per Litre. I was also the recipient of a lovely early birthday present of some little size 9 black slip-on shoes from best friends Ioanna, Maria and Lee.

Next Sunday, 12th February, 2017, I turn 47 years of age.

Have a lovely evening, my good, kind friends.

Love from,

Johnny Baker.

Get sugar free jelly and sugar free fruit juices out. Mind u jelly can have quite a few carbs thou. Sugar free fruit pastiles maybe? Cream with your fruit in?
I'm thinking of you. ♡♥♡
If you feel compromised go with it til your 100% but don't go mad. You're having higher bgs anyway which need support so use what works for you. More so now than any regular time. Drink plenty of water and hot drinks to keep your system working and kidneys well flushed out of extra meds. I know easier said than done. As you can imagine me living with 3 men i have to sort myself out only too. Mr ickihun doesnt drink hot drinks so i mostly do without unless im up and ok.

My guilty pleasure now Debs is Cavalier milk chocolate bars made with stevia and of course oppo .
I do have an apple a day still and have found most fruits don't spike me to much as long as don't go mad .
Had my pain relief increased again today by GP and got to have chest X-ray as my breathing is not improving but gp not sure if it's the pleurisy plus having bloods done again .
